30. Shakira (feat. Rihanna) – Can't Remember To Forget You (2014) (32 points) (no 10s, no 9s)

Group 3; 5th (102 points)

{11}-31-38-15-18-19-23-27-36-42-39-47-68->13

Shakira got her biggest hit in years when she teamed with Rihanna for this song, and the music video which got attention for obvious reasons. :angel: She's now recording Spanish music so hasn't had any UK chart impact for the time being.

29. Aaliyah – Are You That Somebody? (1998) (32 points) (one 10, no 9s)

Group 7; 8th (55 points) / Wildcard; 6th (50 points)

{11}-22-37-50->4

So somehow this beats all of the top five of Group 7, guess this song just has a few big fans.

28. Miley Cyrus – The Climb (2009) (32 points) (one 10, one 9)

Group 1; 6th (89 points) / Wildcard; 1st (71 points)

49-58-49-24-16-13-{11}-12-16-21-32-39-43-69-31R(25)-53-74-74R(197)-71->19

Well thankfully only one Miley Cyrus song is in the top half as 'The Climb' drops out already. I suppose if 'Malibu' were eligible (it was too recent) it'd have been very high as well.

27. Arctic Monkeys – Do I Wanna Know (2013) (33 points) (no 9s)

Group 8; 1st (90 points)

{11}-18-19-20-21-18-15-15-21-30-36-24-14-22-26-37-40-46-51-46-62-75R(4)-65-56R(2)-57-65-68-74-39R(4)-39-51-65-67R(24)-71->34

Arctic Monkeys were super unlucky to miss the top 10 with their return single 'Do I Wanna Know' but did get their longest ever chart run out of it and also won 2013's 'Favourite UK Top 20 (Non-Top 10) Hit' that I hosted, although it is not the highest 2013 single in this rundown.

26. Beyoncé – Run The World (Girls) (2011) (33 points) (two 9s)

Group 3; 4th (108 points)

18-{11}-19-37-45-22-29-30-36-39-23-32-41-49-73->15

Let's forget Beyoncé ever did this okay. Listen to 'Pon de Floor' by Major Laser instead and try to not imagine Bey's whining over the top of it. -_-

Family Portrait is my favourite Pink track ever.

Very disappointed people aren't as fond of it as I am. It is just stunning.

Think it's my favourite too, just couldn't fit it in my vote :cry:

Agreed. Not my fave Pink track ever (that spot belongs to 'Who Knew') but definitely top 5.

25. Sean Paul - Temperature (2006) (34 points)

Group 6; 5th (83 points)

53-{11}-13-13-18-22-22-24-31-38-41-49-64-87-90-88-89-86-82-82-76-81-94-99->23

Kicking off the Top 25 we have Sean Paul's highest offering, 'Temperature'. This mediocre song about meteorology is the fifth of seven Group 6 songs to drop out (one of those still remaining is Opportunuities, which has clearly surpassed expectations (as has this a little)

24. Black Kids – I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You (2008) (35 pts, no 10s)

Group 3; 6th (100 points)/Wildcard; 7th (50 points)

84-{11}-20-24-32-41-44-66-73-64-93-xx-94-82-60-66-69->12

One can only imagine this is where The 1975 got their album inspiration from :lol: A staple song from the '00s, I still have no idea what on earth they're going on about in the lyrics. Apparently they had another single called 'Hurricane Jane' but I'm sure we've all forgotten that :angel:

23. Muse - Plug In Baby (2001) (35 pts) (one 10, no 9s)

Group 5; 2nd (107 points)

{11}-29-44-56-64-xx-77-77-90-xx-89->9

And Muse are also in the top half, seems like some people do have taste. I'm hoping this song is about a guitar and not about one of

. Surprised this only spent 2 weeks in the Top 40 given how well I know it! This was runner-up in its group to - you guessed it - the last remaining Miley

22. Green Day - Holiday (2005) (35 pts) (one 10, no 9s)

Group 1; 3rd (120 points)

{11}-23-27-39-50-46-57-82->8

The first of 2 Green Day songs - Time of Your Life looks like it'll finish a little bit higher. I would tell you what the song's about but I can't hear a word they're saying.

21. Jennifer Lopez (feat. Pitbull) - Dance Again (37 points)

Group 1; 5th (105 points)

{11}-32-59-76->4

Chez, you're saved. Although I have absolutely no recollection of this song existing. Her next 2 songs also featured the now-irrelevant Pitbull and didn't even reach #11 :P

You're right about the 1975 and Black Kids Pete, can't believe I never put that together before! I still listen to Black Kids' album. Hurricane Jane was an abysmal single choice, especially when they had a few decent songs on their album e.g.

20. Justin Timberlake – Lovestoned (2007) (38 points)

Group 5; 6th (80 points) / Wildcard; 8th (50 points)

63-21-19-12-{11}-15-17-23-29-36-44-55-61-65-71->15

Justin Timberlake starts the top 20 with 'Lovestoned', which is the third highest wildcard entry here - 'Opportunities' and 'Untouchable' are yet to come.

19. Fragma – Toca Me (1999) (40 points)

Group 2; 5th (87 points)

{11}-19-31-41-64-73->6

This song most of you are familiar with as 'Toca's Miracle', but it did in fact reach #11 as an instrumental prior to the vocal mix. Seems enough of you love the instrumental for it to reach the top 20, yay. :dance:

18. Alanis Morissette – Ironic (1996) (42 points)

Group 4; 1st (154 points)

{11}-16-22-25-23-27-30-44-67->9

Arguably Alanis' signature hit but ironically (:basil:) not one of her two UK top 10 hits.

17. Miley Cyrus – Party In The USA (2009) (44 points)

Group 5; 1st (115 points)

{11}-13-18-30-43-56-46-42-36-29-37-46-58-64-69->15

And we finally see the last of Miley here as 'Party In The USA' drops out towards the bottom end of the top 20. Thankfully this isn't top 10, horrific song.

16. Christina Perri – A Thousand Years (2013) (46 points)

Group 2; 3rd (117 points)

52-39-32-38-46-57-75R(47)-19-13-13-19-27-30-29-37-49-64-73-71-72-68-27R(4)-25-31-24-29-36-43-44-42-54-58-70-46-38-41-51-63-{11}R(11)-21-23-29-31-46-47-59-74-70R(28)-62R(18)-59R(2)->50

One of Christina Perri's two humungous UK hits, although this one missed out on the top 10 it did seem to spend a thousand years in the chart making the song title very appropriate.

15. The Killers - Smile Like You Mean It (2005) (47 points)

Group 3; 3rd (121 points)

{11}-25-39-55-68-80-xx-80-70-89->9

Another from Group 3 out, leaving only Christina Aguilera left - but how soon will we hear from that? This song only peaked one place lower than Mr. Brightside but is just beaten by the number of weeks on chart, by a measly 164 weeks.

14. Pet Shop Boys - Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money) (1986) (51 pts)

Group 6; 8th (70 points)/Wildcard; 2nd (64 points)

29-17-{11}-15-20-30-43-47->8

Well this has surpassed all the odds - after qualifying via the wildcard round, this has made a massive jump to become Buzzjack's most popular 80s #11 by 24 places. I also put it to you that 'PSB' stands for Pet Shop Boys, not Public Service Broadcasting :P

13. Marina And the Diamonds - Primadonna (2012) (56 pts, no 10s)

Group 8; 2nd (82 points)

{11}-13-{11}-14-16-25-36-51-57-62-91-95-xx-83-99->14

Well since Disconnect has duly flopped, Marina will have to do with this as her biggest sucees of the past 2 years. It has overtaken Do I Wanna Know by quite a way though.

12. Beyoncé - Hold Up (2016) (56 pts, 3 10s)

Group 5; 3rd (93 points)

17-{11}-24-28-26-40-52-51-62-64-59-76->12

After getting her entire album into the charts, Beyoncé couldn't even make the Top 10 - what a flop! This has done very well though, and she clearly has a lot of fans on here.

11. ???

Who has missed the Top 10 by one place AGAIN?

I also put it to you that 'PSB' stands for Pet Shop Boys, not Public Service Broadcasting :P

Haha, I hope I wasn't the only person who got confused in the Friday Predictions thread this week :lol:

11. Gwen Stefani – Cool (2005) (58 points)

Group 1; 1st (151 points)

{11}-15-19-25-36-41-52-60-69-75->10

This won the first group and with one of the largest point totals too but just like in the official chart it misses the top ten here by one place.

10. Little Mix – Love Me Like You (2015) (59 points)

Group 2; 2nd (130 points)

21-30-32-32-28-19-13-13-18-19-22-22-20-{11}-23-36-50-57-66->19

This was very lucky to even make #11, having got there by the gift card effect. It followed their #1 single 'Black Magic' and starts this top ten.

09. Blur – Coffee + TV (1999) (60 points)

Group 4; 5th (96 points)

{11}-18-23-32-46-59-70->7

Blur had 13 top 10 hits but surprisingly this wasn't one of them. It makes the top 10 in this rundown though.

08. Green Day – Time Of Your Life (Good Riddance) (1998) (61 points)

Group 4; 3rd (121 points)

{11}-20-31-52-75->5

Seems you like this song more than 'Holiday' as it finishes 12 places higher, giving them an honorary 6th top 10 hit.

07. Brandy – Afrodisiac (2004) (64 points)

Group 8; 3rd (80 points)

{11}-12-16-27-42-50-66-69->8

Barely remember anything about this song other than her laugh-singing, not sure how it's this high.

06. Disclosure (feat. Sam Smith) – Latch (2012) (67 points)

Group 6; 1st (128 points)

26-17-12-{11}-14-16-19-23-26-28-26-35-27-19-25-28-36-34-43-59-59-59-60-63-59-61-72R(4)-61-75-37R(3)-45-59R(36)-72R(21)-67-74R(6)->35

This was the first hit for Disclosure in the UK Chart and also their biggest, though not highest peaking - two top ten hits followed. This was cruelly denied of a top ten place but is well remembered and had a super long chart run.

05. G.R.L – Ugly Heart (2014) (74 points)

Group 1; 2nd (137 points)

{11}-21-18-15-18-21-25-25-25-28-38-42-46-57-70-72-71-57-68-69-70->21

This became G.R.L's second and final hit single following their #6 with Pitbull, although this one spent a lot longer on the chart. It was the winner of Favourite Top 20 Hit (Non-Top 10) of that year.

04. Adele – Set Fire To The Rain (2011) (83 points)

Group 4; 2nd (126 points)

44-69-46R(4)-25-23-21-12-{11}-11-12-13-13-14-17-15-20-21-25-26-26-29-38-36-21-30-45-51-51-61-56-59-32-35-44-53-54-59-64-57-41-52-59-63-59-51-59-67-75R(3)->48

Adele was very unlucky to miss the top 10 with this, which followed her massive hits RITD (#2) and SLY (#1). She currently has 8 top 10 hits. This song was also the winner of Favourite Top 20 Hit (Non-Top 10) of that year.

Top 3:

• Christina Aguilera – Hurt

• Girls Aloud – Untouchable

• Jordin Sparks – Battlefield

predict the winner, it's one of those three. will be revealed sometime tonight.

Yasss Brandy at #7 :wub: Not here for the shade though -_- It's the best song in the top 10!

Not a great top 3 there really, Battlefield is a by a mile the preferred winner of them.

Great seeing Green Day in the top 10 albeit with the wrong track. Latch is awful, never got the mass adoration for that especially when #1 villain Sam Smith is the vocalist.

03. Girls Aloud – Untouchable (2009) (90 points)

Group 8; 6th (63 points) / Wildcard; 3rd (56 points)

54-41-42-36-27-{11}-21-37-50-62->10

This somehow managed to miss an auto qualification into the final but, proving the necessity of the Wildcard round, it made the top 3 of said round and now also makes the top 3 of the grand final. It was Girls Aloud's first official single to miss the top 10 and was their last single before going on hiatus. Quite unlucky for it to just miss out and ruin their 100% top ten record (which later single Beautiful 'Cause You Love Me would've killed anyway, only reaching #97 lmao) and that combined with GA's large fanbase on Buzzjack makes this being regarded as one of the best UK #11 singles unsurprising. It's not one of my personal favourites of theirs though if I'm being honest.

Two points separate the top 2 and the #2 scored three points more than the Girls, so it's a very close race. Will it be Christina Aguilera or Jordin Sparks who wins though?

  • Author

02. Jordin Sparks – Battlefield (2009) (93 points)

Group 2; 1st (147 points)

21-{11}-14-20-11-15-11-12-19-25-28-35-39-55-71->15

In second place is Jordin Sparks, who won American Idol and went on to have five UK hits. The biggest of those was 'No Air' (#3), her only top ten hit. This one was very close to being her second though, peaking at #11 on three separate occasions thus becoming one of the unluckiest #11 hits ever. It has a big fanbase on Buzzjack leaving its high position as a surprise to no-one. I've always found it to be hideously overrated here so ask someone else if you want a positive commentary.

01. Christina Aguilera – Hurt (2006) (95 points)

Group 3; 1st (139 points)

33-{11}-11-16-26-33-44-38-53-60-65-67R(2)-39R(43)-25R(99)-64->15

And just winning is Christina Aguilera with 'Hurt'. This followed up 'Ain't No Other Man' which was her last ever top ten hit as a leading artist. She'd get four more of those as features. 'Hurt' is an emotional ballad which very much shows off her voice which probably explains its BuzzAppeal. It'd be far from my choice of winner but it's much preferable to 'Battlefield' at least.

Christina Aguilera gets awarded with an honorary Top 10 hit, which means precisely nothing in the real world but still something I guess. In terms of actual Top 10 hits, she has 17 of those, and 23 songs of hers have made the Top 40.
