In The End, Numb and Numb/Encore top 10 :heart: (the lyrics to the former seem a bit overly morbid in the situation, but then most of their songs were quite bleak in theme </3), would be wonderful to see at least one of them get a new peak, weird to think that not one of them was a top 5 hit when they're all classics of their genre (even though I suspect Numb/Encore has big sales to it's name anyway).

and looking at that week's chart, I'd say it's more remembered than most of the songs that were ahead that week. Perhaps moreso than everything except for Kylie.

This was the era when I started following the chart so there's loads a classics for me - You Rock My World, Kylie, Family Affair(one of my fav singles ever) and at the time Flawless was a huge dance track like Jonas Blue in today's chart.

Not exactly Jonas Blue levels of hugeness with a top 40 run of 7-12-15-25-34-34-x even factoring in for chart runs being a lot shorter at the time. :P

We're just in that era and at that generation now tbh. I'd say the same for Muse too!

 

There are still lots of members of bands around in the 60s still alive though!

Flawless is definitely more dancey and less poppy sounding than Mama though!

McFly would send songs up, as would 1D, 1D death would lead to insane sales

Looks like we may have a big Latin pop trend now to replace the tired tropical pop/ future bass/ pitched vocal drop pop ones. A definite major improvement if so.

If you add a 6 week build up records had then that equals 12 weeks in the chart so near enough or slightly below today's average!

I really think it's too hard to compare then to now. Consumption worked and was measured entirely differently.

Flawless would have had a run more like this 74-44-28-18-15-15-20-22-24-27-34-39- but yes it's hard to compare!
