Welcoming to see new songs by established artists on the chart. I hope all the following can increase sales, Avicii, Dannii Minogue, Pink and my poptastic favourites Steps.
Avicii's hit would have been big 3 years ago but I can't see it breaking through with the type of music that floods the charts now.

Pink doesnt have streaming behind her so I dont think she'll be anywhere near the top5

Selling double #2 on iTunes is pretty significant, and we can't really judge her streaming until tomorrow. I think top 5 should be achievable depending on the Spotify update.

But something called Sigrid is?

The music market since the turn of the decade has literally been about flavours of the month in terms of attaining Radio 1 playlists slots, unfortunately.

Omg I didn't twig More Than Friends would be an En Vogue cover so didn't listen, it's a bit of a banger :o

More Than Friends sounds straight out of 2014 so it's v surprising the public are taking to it! I can see it being a Buzzjack favourite if it carries on to catch on like it is.

It proves that type of sound can actually do well, people just need to release more of it. Hopefully with this, the new Tom Zanetti and the Duke/City track we can gradually shift towards this and away from that future bass/tropical saturation.

The only thing I would say is that it is probably a bit too soon for deep house to become 'the thing' again. I'm hoping against hope that garage can make a miraculous comeback!

On My Mind by Disciples is another prime example of that deep house sound creating a hit in 2017 - and that was a hit through Radio 1 airplay. If they continue to support deep house/d&b/garage influenced tracks outside of Dance Anthems then I think they could make a 'comeback' of sorts.

(even I'm fed up with identikit future bass songs now, change the bloody record please :drama:)

Its going to be very close but I do think both p!nk and Dua look to have the top 2 spots next Friday I reckon. She's maintaining a decent lead on iTunes with Dua Lipa only going up to 50% so far.

If P!nk's sales hold up I'd estimate she's on course for 35-40k of downloads plus maybe 10-15k from streaming which thanks to ACR last weeks no.1 only had 39k of combined sales so P!nk could shift that on downloads alone. Dua Lipa I reckon will do around 40-45k, if P!nk maintains a steady lead on downloads and her streaming pulls up she may just about clinch it.

Keep forgetting the first day of pink is not of this week's sales? So it's really a day and a bit... And now Dua already at 55% and pink has no radio this week and 300k difference on streaming which is around 2k sales. Dua should and deserves it in my taste but yes I think both can be top 2.

I think Dua has this to be honest, just a 45% lead now which will only continue to shrink.

A bit of trivial information but does anyone know when the last time we had a post-album #1? Not a single going #1 after the album release but a single being released and pushed to radio after the album is out.
