Posted August 14, 20177 yr Title track and next single from her upcoming album. Out this Friday. From Instagram: My new single / music video #YoungerNow will be dropping this Friday, Aug 18th & I am sooooooo EXCITED to share it with all of you! I hope to always make people smile and shine light thru my work!
August 15, 20177 yr So she's going up against Bieber? Apparently the song is 80's disco-pop with country vibes It's been produced by Oren Yoel (Adore You, Space Bootz, Malibu, BB Talk) who has apparently produced the entire album :(. http://i.imgur.com/OAYoaEr.jpg
August 15, 20177 yr Omg it could sound like Wikitoria's As I Lay Me Down from that description which I am SO here for.
August 15, 20177 yr I actually have NO IDEA how this is going to perform. I'm intrigued that she's going up against Bieber! 'Malibu' would have went top five had it been released on the Friday instead of Thursday but radio don't seem to be massive supporters of Miley. The performance of this album I think could be similar to 'Witness' from Katy Perry.
August 15, 20177 yr Yeah I feel that, Malibu didn't do as well as CTTR, I don't think Bieber being against her with be automatically death to it because if people want to listen to or buy it they will but there just doesn't seem to be much hype behind this era :( Malibu did decently but I think like Katy between Prism and now, 4 years between albums for a huge artist like them is so much. I know she had Dead Petz in between but that didn't keep her name in the charts as it was free  It's a shame pop moves so quickly :/ Tbh if she does what she wants to do and gives us bops I'm happy but it'd be nice for her to have success along with it too.
August 15, 20177 yr 'Malibu' has actually held up incredibly well on Digital Sales, It's still top 30 on iTunes and It's sold rather well in America with it being top 10 on USA iTunes for over a month, Streaming / airplay just killed any hope of it being a success, airplay stalled at 50m which is incredibly crap for a Miley who's regarded as one of the main popstars. Of course it's good to see Miley writing an entire album by herself but I just want PURE POP Miley. I'm not sure which direction she will go in following this campaign, it really could go anyway. She's intelligent so if she underperforms I can see her going back pure pop. Edited August 15, 20177 yr by WallIsSoGood
August 16, 20177 yr Hmm it cuts off before you can tell much, if she's said it's disco hopefully it's just that slow start then it builds to something better, that clip does seem pretty dull :(
August 18, 20177 yr Hmm when I was told country mixed with disco-pop I wasn't expecting this as it doesn't fit into either of those genres, it's nice and pleasant... I very much doubt it is any sort of a hit though. Perhaps a grower?
August 18, 20177 yr Love the video so much, it really suits her. The song's just a bit 'there'. It's pleasant enough but just not really my thing.
August 18, 20177 yr Not a massive fan of this in the slightest, It's currently #30 on UK iTunes. I don't think it's hit worthy enough and she really needed a song that was going to be a smash but in all honestly, I think this will be lucky to bother the top 40 in the billboard charts.
August 18, 20177 yr I just heard/watched this and I'm so sad the reaction is so negative to it! I find it totally gorgeous as a whole package. I much much much prefer it to 'Malibu', which was also fine but this is great. Really sweet sentiment in the song and I don't think I've ever seen her look more beautiful than in the last shot of the video. I'm really hoping this somehow does well.
