Jordin Sparks played her full demo of The Way today on Instagram!

'The Way' originally being recorded by Jordin was such a revelation to me at the 'Yours Truly' listening party a couple of weeks ago!

 

Her version is really cool too - both her and Ari suit it.

 

Noticed this as part of the caption:

 

"truuuuust me when I say I wanted it. I played this at the start of all my other sessions to show what direction I was headed. But, honestly, I’m not trippin. Ari is amazing and if it wasn’t going to be me, I’m glad it was her!"

Like I think it could’ve been top 10 hit for her here If her first two eras happened the other way around.

It makes me wonder what direction their music careers would have taken if she kept it and Ari released something different.

Apparently Ariana and Mac first met in late 2012 and uploaded a duet of 'Baby It's Cold Outside' to YouTube - queen of Christmas music :lol: it has since been deleted from her channel (of course, it's Ariana) but yes that existed, with Mac's name instead under a pseudonym. It has been re-uploaded by Ariana fans though so is preserved!

 

That only pre-dates 'The Way' by several months though so still very early days of knowing each other. They started talking after being fans of each other's music!

Jordin is still making money off The Way anyway so she is probably glad it was successful for Ari!

She unfollowed Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, The Weeknd, Kylie Jenner, Camilla Cabello, Iggy Azeala, Lauren Jauregui, Shawn Me des and even HannahLuxDavies

Oh yes I heard about that! The most common theory I've seen about it is because they weren't speaking up about Black Lives Matter (Ari has been very vocal) - but Taylor Swift as one example is definitely a celeb I've seen commenting on it. So... who knows! Oops at Hannah, Lana, The Weeknd and Iggy - former collaborators.

Honestly the respect I have for Ariana is through the roof, popstars really need to use their voice and help influence people to support the right things
