A whole decade and I've still not made time to listen to Stages :kink:

9 years since the last Mel B single. :( At the time I allowed myself to be excited about the possibility of a third album.

Love Anymore. What a banger.

I dont think I've ever listened to Stages in full either. I noticed it was the only one of her solo albums to be completely ignored in her memoir aswell.

She briefly mentioned it when talking about Superstar and she talked about Emma being involved on IKHSW... was one of the few times she actually mentioned Emma in the book which I found bizarre.

I felt like she ignored most of her solo work I thought she would go into a lot more detail than she did, Geri covered far more of hers in her books.

I'm another having never listened to stages.

I want you back is still absolutely amazing, still sounds so fresh.

Anymore was probably my favourite song off VOM.

24 years ago the Spice Girls played the last concert of the 1998 Spiceworld Tour at Wembley Stadium.

Is that unseen footage? :o I've not seen it before anyway. Lol at Geri "don't cry, not here, don't cry, girl power!"

25 years later and we still don't have the full show released officially in high quality, be it on YouTube or as a DVD, and neither do we have the undubbed live recordings. Isn't it wonderful being a Spice Girls fan? Happy anniversary! :cheer:

4 years ago today… many of us bought tickets for the Spice World 2019 tour!

Kind of crazy that the reunion started that long ago!

It all seemed to be going so well, with promises/expectations of more post-UK tour. We were totally in Spiceworld then

It literally all fell apart as soon as the last date at Wembley was finished

Such an exciting time. I think we as fans can forgive them not doing endless promo like in 2018/19 if they give us something like the SW19 tour.

I really want that buzz of something big from them again.

How come they chose to perform Stop out of all their US hits? Isn't it strange?

It actually made perfect sense to do Stop! It is an iconic hit, well loved the world over, and now a bit older they avoided doing what everyone expected them to do: Wannabe or Spice Up Your Life...

What I thought was bad and odd were the military all coordinated design (a little to polished for them, imo) and the miming <_< They did themselves no favours to do the whole Headlines/Stop campaign in this way... It was a bit too tacky for me.

Was it in 2007 though? Wannabe, Say You'll Be There and Spice Up Your Life were much bigger hits. How could they know it was a modern favourite? This was before downloads and streaming took over.

In 2007, I honestly did think Stop was an unusual choice for US TV. The song managed to chart in the top 20 in the US...but I assume that's from single sales. I never heard it on the radio. Not once. The only time I saw the video ever on US TV was in the MTV Wannabe A Spice Girl karaoke contest...and even then, they only played about half the video. The fans would know the song, of course, but the general public wouldn't.

I love that the song has become so popular streaming over the years. I'd kinda wonder how much US listeners contribute to that. If it does well with them, it certainly happened organically...cause that song certainly got no help from the traditional channels.

Anyway. As for the performance itself, I actually do really love the USO show theme. All five of them look beautiful. The routine looks sharp. Obviously, the lip syncing was a big mistake...especially since the performance was pushing forward to a live tour. All five of them were quite capable of handling that song. A lot of fans made excuses for them at the time...saying they didn't have proper time to rehearse. Well. Uh. You get a chance to go on national television...you better rehearse?

Anyone else remember this rumor? There were claims at the time that an act had to drop out of the VS Fashion Show, and they nearly replaced them with Geri doing It's Raining Men. Beats me how true that is. The claim was that IRM was the only other number from the show that was rehearsed enough to be performed already...which actually does sound plausible enough...as Geri's rehearsals happened before the other girls.
