This is the first regular season that I’m watching live and I’m just so excited! I started watching AS3 while I was ill and stuck in bed last month and ended up loving it so much that I instantly went back and binged my way through all 9 seasons as well as AS1 and 2.

 

I’m absolutely living for this new cast - Cracker and Yuhua are my early favourites and I think Cracker in particular looked amazing here. I wasn’t quite as keen on Blair as the judges were, but I do appreciate that the textures in her design were interesting. Aquaria is a mixed bag for me so far, I was a little underwhelmed by her runway look, but she was a lot nicer and warmer than I was expecting from the previews.

 

Before the lip sync I was pretty convinced that Kalorie was going home but I was stunned by how much she turned it out! Based on that she definitely deserved to stay. I agree with Liam though that she's going to be eaten alive pretty quickly, but at least she was able to show us all what she’s capable of.

Hmmm i'm watching this now... and Miz Cracker i'm not feeling... all about Yuhua Hamasaki for me

 

Some great Queens this series though - it already feels like a massive step up from the Series 9 Queens... also loved the Farrah Moan/ Christina Aguilera entrance

yeah Kameron is just there so far. i am still standing by my early boot (that is, first 5 episodes) prediction

Kalorie is adorable!! I love Yuha too, there seems to be a lot of strong characters this time around so it looks like it's gonna be a good season *.*

how in the hell was the vixen not in the bottom with that outfit? poorly executed or not, at least the actual bottom 2 put more effort into their looks.

Oh really? The Vixen's outfit was in my top 5 or so, I thought it was quite cool and inventive compared to most who just went for a very obvious "stick loads of shit on fabric and see if it sticks".

Definitely :lol: I got pretty much nothing from her, I wouldn't say the look was ugly but I didn't remember what she did moreso than any of the others, and had to look it up, whereas the others I can still see in my mind if I think (The Vixen was similarly nothingy for me). Her personality didn't stand out at all either in the episode, I don't think I'd have remembered who she was if not for being the "hot muscled guy"... Her look wasn't my worst but I think personality wise in the episode, her and The Vixen stood out the least for me. I can see The Vixen potentially being a bit of a villain for being quite OTT with opinions, but Kameron I just imagine might get a pass for being something different, like "omg a muscle top being a drag queen!1!1" which I hope doesn't happen :/

i’m so intrigued by that! she had literally glue gunned foam water floats on to a black bikini. i can see how you could think it was cool but i can’t see inventive.

i agree with kyle - the vixen's outfit was atrocious and EASILY my least favourite of the bunch! she is probably my worst at the moment - she is leaving me cold in every way. i thought that aquaria's was awful as well. kameron's was rly busy and not great, monet's was horrible (mostly due to mismatched colour scheme and styling, it was well executed to the vision), didn't like dusty's (the styling looked mismatched thorgy thor style), kalorie's (obviously rly badly conceived) etc. so it wasn't the strongest week in general. deffo thought vanessa should've been above a couple of them because the silhouette didn't bother me at all??? i don't know how many times skinny queens have been on the show and basically wore a shape / blob of ideas over their body because they have an up-and-down silhouette, so it was just similar to that to me.

 

 

I think The Vixen’s look could have been helped with nude underwear to make it look like the floats where physically covering her modesty but the big black knickers took from the look (a la Sasha Belle in season 7).

Yeah I do see what you’re saying, it perhaps seemed pretty lazy, I think I just liked it compared to half of them who just glued EVERYTHING to their outfits to the extent it was really overly busy and ugly so this contrasted nice and it complimented her quirky style.

Yeah I feel the same about Vixen, it was really lazy and ultimately forgettable, as I said, and I thought what on earth did she do with all that time to just come out with that :lol: But I could see the idea at least, and I prefer something a bit lazy to something that looks really tacky like say Vanessa's with everything just chucked on it for the sake of it. Because of course that's the antithesis of the Drag On A Dime challenge.

This was such a good episode, the whole Christina Aguilera entrance was amazing and most of them seem really likeable. Such a breath of fresh air after All Stars 3 being so awful.

Obsessed with Cracker already.

 

It's crazy how this episode felt better than any of the episodes of All Stars. I'm fully back on board. The quality of the queens this season seems so strong?

Yeah definitely, this is everything AS3 should have been! The quality of a lot of the outfits in the challenge could have been better, but that didn't affect the feel of the episode. It had exactly the right pacing, enough focus on getting to know the queens without sacrificing say the runway time, or time spent focusing on the actual challenge (when they were making the outfits). It just shows how much better the show is with hour episodes, paced properly, that goes such a long way. It felt like essential viewing and the Kitty Girls episode (and perhaps the Bitchelor) was the only time I truly felt that with AS3.

Allstars 3 would've been great had stupid twists not eliminated the only 2 Queens who served it every single show.

 

Trixie winning is a symbol of how bad the standard was and how silly the twists were.

 

Drag Race X though was great - note to Ru, don't let the Queens make decisions
