Aquaria slayed the performance for me and Kameron had the best final four look. I thought Eureka and Asia did okay although on the former had the best line in her rap "Eureka....You found it" made up for her awful runway look which really didn't that headpiece at all.

Omg I am FLOORED by Aquarias Runway look tonight!! STUNNING :drama: I'm backing her to win now tbh

Kameron also brought it tonight, I love her and shes the most likeable personality wise but you can tell now that she's held back a bit comparing tonights episode to previous ones :( had she come out her shell sooner she woulda made some fierce competition for the likes of Aquaria that slays every week

SOOO, as I’m bored, I’ve decided to write up what my personal outcomes for each of the episodes would’ve been. I’ve tried to avoid bias as much as I possibly can, so not to penalise those I’m not so keen on and so not to over help my favourites.

Final 4: Aquaria, Asia, Eureka, Miz Cracker

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So we’d be going into the final with:
3x Cracker, 2x Aquaria, 2x Asia, 2x Eureka. Just my opinions!
OMG I cried like a baby at Kameron speech at his 3 year old self :snif:
So touchy, emotional and raw.
And she looked goddess omg :heart:
Finally caught up before the reunion and honestly, all I’m going to say is how much of a train wreck that top four lip sync was. I mean really? “Call Me Mother” when everyone is wearing gowns? Who’s idea was that???? :lol:
So watching the reunion I've been left with a bad taste in my mouth over the whole vixen/rupaul/Asia situation. Mainly because I side with the vixen and Asia. Ru reacted wrong and it was rather uncomfortable viewing.
Asia O'Hara's Drag Race please.
So done with Ru. Literally just shutting down any conversation just to have his canned "life lessons" wheeled out again. I hate that he always suggests there is one way to live and one acceptable way to feel. Ru has shown himself as so small minded.
Over it.
do you think harry? i don't mean it to sound faux-diplomatic but i think both were right in a way, and that what they were saying were not necessarily at odds with each other. rupaul was spot on when he said that the vixen had made up her mind because she tends to do that at least from our experience of her on the show, and even if it was only for that moment, she was finished. this was made even more evident by the fact that no-one actually went to help her - in past seasons it's been seen that if the girl is struggling they will get up and get them but i think they all subconsciously knew in that particular moment that it wasn't worth it. that however does not mean that asia's message of continuing to fight for her and her struggles and being available to guide her through cannot be applied (why did the conversation make it as if it had to be one or the other?) - a person like vixen can have a heated and hasty moment but still be open to help and love at a time when she needs it. the vixen is obviously struggling and is trying to be strong so it's not always the case that you can help that person until they allow themselves to be vulnerable, and then the guidance will help her most.
i do agree that in general the vixen's message and political belief is great, but her expression and delivery are not always right. people that hate on her however because she doesn't have the adaptability to mould her message for different audiences is unfair because the intent is still the same and the message should still be heard, even if it does require a little digging for it or if it comes across as aggressive and sometimes uncomfortable.
ru did come across very 'this is my experience so apply it the same way' tho, for someone with a wealth of experience it does take ru a good hot minute to consider other viewpoints as valid.
For me what I agreed the most wiith Vixen's comment of "Everyone is telling me how to react but nobody is telling her how to act" it felt like Vixen was considering getting the blame for choosing to defend or stick up for herself when Eureka said what she said. But Eureka basically admitted she wanted to fight when she wanted to "test" her she poked the bear, she knew what reaction would come of it and she wondered why vixen did not trust her in the rest of the season.
And Vixen can learn like the talk with Asia shows she is capable of learning new ways of how to deal with conflict so im not buying the whole she doesn't wanna be helped crap.
Screaming at Kameron's fake persona being clocked!
Rob I love your rundown and I mostly agree, only thing I'd change is to have Monique as the winner for episode 1 instead of Cracker and Cracker instead the winner of the Bossy Rossy instead of Eureka. Literally agree with every single other thing.
It is a bit uncomfortable that this reunion was made about everyone's issues and struggles. I don't know why Ru is so intent on this sort of narrative for the series, we all love a journey but when it's actual trauma like Blair's rape or Dusty's experience with conversion therapy for example there is really no need to drag it up AGAIN for TV when they are naturally very upset to relive it. That's less a reunion discussing what happened on the season and more a group therapy session that Ru seems to feed off of :lol:
I agree with Lew too, I don't think anyone helped in that situation. Ru went OTT af just because what Asia was saying was at odds with what he'd carved out for the reunion's narrative/messages, but I do kind of get that because it feels like The Vixen has made up her mind about everything. In saying that, whilst I got really fed up of Vixen earlier in the season, you can't help but side with her when Eureka admitted she was stirring shit and testing Vixen though because that is so immature. When you know someone is like that and you clash with it or don't like it, it makes you no better if you flare that side of them up and test how far you can push them. The Vixen wants her voice heard and just goes about it the wrong way or has whatever issues that make it hard for her to put it across without blowing up, but that is far preferable of a position at the end of it all than "I was bored and wanted to test her". Just because Vixen doesn't go about it in the best way doesn't mean that everyone can just conveniently ignore the message she is putting across, because it's perfectly valid and needs to be heard no matter how she goes about it. We can't only listen and accept what's being said if it's in the "right" way that is easy for us, otherwise nothing would ever change...
This reunion just shows how they edit and construct things as they want, like we saw NOTHING of this Kameron drama (or nothing of Kameron at all, I still haven't really formed an impression beyond "aw shes nice") so it's interesting that the actual experience seems to have been different. I can see it being that way tbf, even if Kameron is just quiet and doesn't mean to be rude or dismissive I think when she is the way she is ALL the time through the whole competition, it is going to come across that she is ignoring people and doesn't have time for them. There's a big difference between being quiet/keeping to yourself and actually being rude or dismissive of others. You can be quite introverted, not involved in the drama and still interact with people and at least ask how they are, acknowledge them, compliment them, and just share an experience with them.
Yeah what the hell was that?!
All the drama being rehashed. I mean I lived for it obviously. I could look at Moniques facial expressions all day. What a goddamn STAR *.* But this was way too much.
Ru went in a bit too hard on The Vixen. I do think Vixen didn't handle herself as well as she can and didn't show off her best attributes but RU was clearly taking a side...so it was a bit...eew.
I don't think anyone came out well in the Vixen drama
The Vixen - doesn't put her point across well and doesn't help herself at all. Ru was right in that there should be a two way street and all you get from her is agression
Ru - was right to the point that the Vixen learns to need to help herself or let others help/ accept the criticism, but I think went too far
Euereka - wasn't right to try and wind up the Vixen in that argument, however I think at least wants to try and sort things out.
Asia I think was right in some respects, but then I think there's only so much Ru and everyone else can do. I mean you can't let someone just be a c**t the whole time.
As a whole though this reunion is just meh - its basically Ru playing at therapist. I understand the show has a big platform and that it helps a lot of people... but come on its an entertainment programme - where's the fun? I don't get why we needed to go over Blair's, Dusty's and Monique's issues again!
Yuhua's drag though was great!
I wish it had been more light hearted. Yes cover the interpersonal drama. But no to the rehashing of people's personal pasts.
Ru didn't handle the Vixen drama in the best way. I want The Vixen to succeed, but I find it hard to support her when she will never admit to putting a single foot out of line.
The focus on personal struggles and the drama was too much. I'm pretty sure most of us would have preferred more insight into the process, behind the scenes, funny moments, more the library is open etc. RuPaul is so obsessed with his armchair psychology and it's making it a chore to watch.
RuPaul needs to start understanding that not every queen is going to have the same experiences as him, the same mentality. He tries to pigeonhole the queens into his way of thinking and then doesn't like it when they don't listen, do as he says or immediately change at his request. He is becoming more out of touch with each season.
The thing with the Vixen is everything she says is usually spot on, it's just how she goes about explaining herself that needs work. Constantly making her out to be a villain isn't going to help her. Eureka can go about things in exactly the same way!
I read The Vixen as a self assorbed character who enjoys causing drama but can’t see or admit herself doing anything wrong. She should have taken it upon herself to say “I didnt like Eureka during the show but li’m open to work through it”. You dont have to get on with everyone but show sone respect to those around you.
I don’t believe white priviledge is the issue here. Poor behaviour is.
