Yuhua and Cracker are my faves so far too! Yuhua has my favourite look and seems funny already, Cracker is just so warm and likeable instantly. My early pick for the big fan fave and perhaps the breakout star but ofc it's too early to tell that.

 

I am getting Alexis Michelle/Derrick Barry lots of bottom critiques but scraping by quite far from him.

I'm also kind of getting villain from The Vixen, I can see her being way too militant and perhaps a bit easily offended and put people off.

It's basically (once again) all about the NYC girls from the first part, Miz Cracker is OUTSTANDING and a clear fan favourite from the get go. I can't shake the feeling that Aquaria is either going to be overhyped or a completely horrible person.

 

But the cast really is HD-ready this year and even Kalorie looks pretty polished for (still) an obvious first boot.

Yeah she is kinda the posterchild for new teenage female drag race fans, isn't she?

That's the perfect way to put it :lol: I can already see her having that rabid portion of the fanbase that won't let you say anything bad about her no matter what she does on the show. You can already tell she isn't a nice person either. I don't so much mind if someone is shady or "honest" for want of a better word, but she just feels like a bitchy young gay twink. Put it this way, there's of course a world of difference between Phi Phi and Bianca in terms of attitude, for example.

Aquaria is giving me Violet vibes, ticking all the boxes. whether she improves towards the end is another question

violet at least was endearing and has a unique perspective on her aesthetic - aquaria is the definition of polished twink queen and i feel like we can get that ANYWHERE... there's nothing i've seen of hers that make me think oh wow. for someone so popular, her VTs / talking heads / interviews seem very stiff and try-hard - look isn't everything henny!!!

From the preview that we saw I liked Yuhua & Mayhem the best, nobody stood out as being particularly awful, was shocked that Miz Cracker is the third oldest after Mayhem & Asia she doesn’t look like she’s in her thirties at all.

Yep, if it's like last year it takes only like an hour or two from US airing to go on, so sometimes if I was out that night and got back at like 4am I'd watch it straight away but either way it's there when I wake up :D

Blair looks 15!

Cracker, Yuhua and Mayhem SLAYED that challenge. Mayhem was the definite winner for me too, she had that perfect balance of being striking and elegantly realised but staying quite simple and giving us fashion, because a few of them did just throw everything at it (Vanessa's Barbies on her dress, for example) which made it look tacky which of course is the opposite of what this challenge is about. All of the 3 I mentioned made themselves look like they're serving fashion and sold it perfectly (particularly Cracker). I wasn't quite as much of a fan of Blair's outfit as the judges, I'd have probably switched her with Monet in the top few as I loved the cards outfit, but Blair was solid anyway.

 

I also really wasn't that keen on Aquaria's look, I was very disappointed for someone who is visually of her calibre. I can see the idea but I think it was the torso area that really threw me off, it would have elevated it so much more if she just had a bit more material to cover that bit, it would have looked much more fashion for me because I did love the idea and it was partly there.

 

Correct elimination for me, Kalorie's outfit was absolutely hideous and the worst for sure, but Vanessa's wasn't much better and Kalorie had me GAGGED in that lipsync! She really gave it her all without veering too far into desperate and throwing in random flips or whatever (except the twerking, I guess, but that was just using her assets and showing who she is while she could) whereas Vanessa was just kind of there on stage for me. She was by FAR the most annoying personality for me too in that episode so I'm glad to see the back of her really. Alexis Mateo she is not :lol:

Aquaria WHO?! That outfit AND make up were quite average. If you do a conceptual look do it polished or not at all. Meh.

 

Blair and Mayhem's outfits were SO on fleek *.* Blair's was probably my favourite though.

 

Yuhua KILLING it with that personality.

 

I lived for Jinkx in this episode too, she continues to slay even with 10 seconds of air time in the entire episode.

 

I thought that sponge outfit had potential to be absolutely stunning but sponges were just slapped onto the fabric and that's it. Disappointing.

 

I was SO glad Kalorie killed that lip sync. I like her a lot and hope she can Shangela her way through the season.

 

Vanessa's personality was as great as it was annoying and I'm not at all surprised she's out. She came out as a blob and there was nothing fashion about it in the slightest. Jiggly teas. very St. Tropez~

 

All in all, the first challenge was meh, most of these bitches really don't know much about fashion it seems, or at least how to design a good looking garment.

Definitely agree with this, I was expecting something really striking like Bob's blue and yellow card outfit from S8 but it looked really naff and she kept standing on it too? Monet and Yuhua are my favourites already based personality but I probably would have put the former near the bottom for that sponge dress, oops.

 

Kinda sad about Vanessa going though, she was giving me Aja vibes with her personality so I'm sure she would have grown to become one of my favourites. Kalorie seems a bit out of her depth in the competition though so I can't see her lasting much longer. She killed it in the lip sync through, I gagged when she made it rain!!

Kalorie is giving me Jaymes Mansfield teas, you so want her to do well and she's sweet and likeable but she's just not fully there. I think Jaymes had the talent in places but just wasn't fully there in her head, whereas Kalorie just doesn't really have the talent her confidence thinks she does unfortunately and it's such a polished competitive season. It's great she's confident but she is 110% getting eaten alive asap :lol:

UGH I'm so disappointed. Of all the queens to go out first, I've never known them to have SUCH personality that I'm dying to see more. I was disappointed about Jaymes Mansfield but this is even more so. I do probably agree with the bottom two and Kalorie definitely won the lip sync but I'm bitterly disappointed. Vanessa's voice, accent and talking heads cracked me up several times throughout the episode, a big loss imo. :(

 

My personal top 3 this week were Mayhem, Monique and Miz Cracker - I think Monique was absolutely ROBBED not to land in the top there, especially ahead of Blair and Yuhua. I strongly disliked Monet's look aswell which is a shame but I'm fine with her sticking around - the black queens this year are GIVING IT, it's their year and I think Monet could be a strong contender for the title after this. The first few minutes of Untucked with Monet, Monique, Asia and Vixen all screaming and hollering about the sponge concept was giving me life.

 

Happy to see that Cracker is living up to being my favourite pre-episode, not disappointed and definitely still rooting for her!
