Hello pop ho's

 

Welcome to fourth edition of Pop Forum Song Contest. I am your host Addy (since I won the last one :kink:) and the theme for this edition is ballads so you can send anything from a moody ballad to a mid-tempo piece. The only rule is it has to be somewhat pop.

 

Here are the veto rules:

1. The song must not have reached the top 100 in the UK chart and not a massive hit in its country of origin

2. The Artist must not have an Artist Forum on Buzzjack

3. Any song that we feel is giving other songs an unfair advantage (eg, Sales) or somewhat fits the veto rules (popular on the forum) will still be vetoed

4. For this contest, we are intrigued by artists that are perhaps not known outside of their own country. We want to discover the best of pop

5. An artist will only get one entry per contest, so first come first served

6. The song must not have been a top 20 hit in another song contest on the site. However, a song that has previously been entered into these contests may still be vetoed.

THE HYPE IS REAL *.* I think I’m going with a potential I didn’t end up sending and wouldn’t have the time to send to BJSC

Luckily I had a song I was keeping in my back pocket for a future BJSC entry (that I dont think I will enter) that is a ballad.

I have some songs I am hesitant aboot sendin to blowjc sooo maaaybe

We had power ballads. After people fussing over songs not being 'power ballads' we decided that we would do a general ballad theme to keep the peace this time last year

Ah I see, yeah in fairness my entry really wasn't that power-ballady on reflection.

It allows people to bend the rules a bit more by entering a 'mid-tempo' ballad :P

This reminds me... I feel like we need to have an archives for this kind of thing. Similar to the UP/Nuggets ones.

I'll have another go at finding something I actually want to send for a ballads theme, after even I didn't like my own entry much in the 'power ballads' edition :lol:

Making my PFSC return and I shall not be as cheap as Avril this time :lol: (even if she did score me a top 3 debut, queen) will make sure to find something in the coming days ~

Don't normally do Ballads but I might try and find something for this.

Confirmed! :D I feel like the production of my entry isn't typical of a ballad but I still think it fits the criteria and is pop enough.

Cameron just likes ballads, this is why we have this after power ballads :kink:

 

Idk how poppy my song is, I guess it's indie pop but it's one of the most stunning songs I've ever heard, an all time fave for sure so it was the one that came to mind first! I hope it's okay :o
