3. "Black Widow" (with Iggy Azalea) - 8.3852 (Max: 11 - darkstar79, Bjork, Cody, Addy! / Min: 4 - ElectroBoy; 6 - blacksquare, jase., Cameron, ML Hammer95, leewallace, Brébino, Cucumberella)

UK chart peak: #4

In bronze medal position is the highest placed feature credit from Rita, meaning the top two is exclusively Rita solo songs. This has really surprised me with how high it's placed, receiving only one score below 5.0. I'm very pleased though, it's an excellent song and Rita really steals the limelight from Iggy here and I'm glad to see it's so well-regarded by Buzzjack, despite Iggy's own reputation going down the drain. The song was co-written with Katy Perry for her 'Prism' album although deemed it too similar to her own hit "Dark Horse" and decided to allow Iggy to have it on her own album - 'The New Classic'. The comparisons are understandable but the huge success of "Dark Horse" allowed "Black Widow" to smash as much as it did. It originally charted in the UK after the album's release and was then announced as the follow-up to Iggy's global smash hit "Fancy", featuring herself and Charli XCX re-enacting the classic 90s high school movie 'Clueless' - so Iggy decided to follow it up with the music video to "Black Widow" paying homage to another movie, this time 2003's 'Kill Bill'. It went on to become a huge hit for both artists, becoming Rita's biggest hit to date in the US where it peaked at #3 and was another top five for her in the UK, peaking one place lower at #4.

Which song will win? :o Top two coming before The X Factor.

Perfect Top 2, I'll be pleased with either winning *.*

Pleasantly surprised to see Black Widow as high as that!

Just missing out on the title of best Rita Ora song in silver medal position is "I Will Never Let You Down". The winner was never not going to be one of these two songs and it changed a lot during the voting, with this song leading until Monday when it received a second score of five which secured the win for "Anywhere". Despite that, it still received seventeen 10s, two more than "Anywhere" and eleven 11s to contribute to an incredible average over 9.0. This is currently my personal favourite Rita song, although "Anywhere" is very close to taking that title, so it's a deserving top two here. This was quite a big change in direction for Rita following the drum'n'bass sounds of her first two singles and the Max Martin-wannabe "How We Do (Party)" from 'ORA' and pointed towards her releasing an album full of dance-pop bangers, which I personally would have loved to hear. Unfortunately, the album was put on hold when Calvin Harris, the sole writer and producer of "I Will Never Let You Down" and Rita's ex-boyfriend decided that she could no longer release the songs that he had written for her. At least we got this summer smash from her, her first Platinum-certified single, which has since been joined by both "Hot Right Now" and "Your Song" in that club. We've been waiting for her mythical second album for three-and-a-half years now and after restarting her career in both 2015 and 2017, it is due to finally arrive in 2018. "I Will Never Let You Down" went straight to #1 in the UK, becoming Rita's fourth #1 which was then a record for a British female soloist, tied with Geri Halliwell, although both have since been overtaken by Cheryl and then Jess Glynne. Hopefully "Anywhere" can return her to being level with those two icons.

UK chart peak: #5

Which means that your winner is "Anywhere"! It received a total of fifteen 10s and sixteen 11s, meaning that over a quarter of voters awarded it top marks. It's an incredible slice of electropop from Rita and shows off her vocals, as seen by her recent live performances of it on the Jonathan Ross Show and the X Factor. The song builds throughout, climaxing at the drop which again features a distorted vocal effect. The chorus on this is such an earworm, written by the same people as "Lonely Together" along with Swedish DJ Alesso, who also produced the song. Musically it is very similar to that song although this is the clear favourite of the two here, most likely due to people preferring the more natural vocals during the verses. The music video features Rita in many different locations around New York City, which is only actually 2,500 miles from L.A. and she serves us many flawless looks throughout. The song was only released a little over three weeks ago but has so far reached #5 in the Official Chart, becoming Rita's eighth UK top five single, another joint record for a British female solist, shared with Cheryl, Ellie Goulding and Leona Lewis. I'm very surprised that a Rita song has managed to get such universal praise but for an artist that I didn't realise had that big a fanbase, I'm pleased that she finally has a song that unites lovers of pretty much all genres. It's a bit too early to say whether this will go down as future classic but this is definitely one of my songs of the year and a deserving winner here.

Thank you to everyone who voted and commented! :cheer:

YASSSSSSS, what a great winner  it may be very early in its life but Anywhere is just undeniable, a totally worthy winner. IWNLYD would've been just as deserving though, an absolute anthem
The right song won! 'I Will Never Let You Down' is the perfect #2 as well but 'Body on Me' should have been #3 (sorry not sorry).
I wonder where the Sean Paul feat. Rita single will land on here in a few weeks time :P

I am loving "Anywhere" at the moment but it's way too recent to be her overall #1 for me :( "I Will Never Let You Down" is THAT song and the likes of "Body On Me", "Black Widow" and "Doing It" have all stood the test of time personally too.

Shocked and pleased at "Your Song" coming top five here though! It probably wouldn't be that high for me but I always thought it was a bit disliked on Buzzjack and I've loved it since the first listen so I'm glad to see it get the recognition it deserves

Thank you Theo.! Absolutely loved taking part in this and reading your amaze commentary! Woulda preferred IWNLYD to win, but I am not moaning or begrudging an 'Anywhere' win as it's outstanding.

Woulda loved to have seen 'Body On Me' place higher, but we cant always get our own way, can we? :P
