A few interesting things from them. It's cool to hear them talk about the sign language interpreter on the tour screens (the only time I think I've heard them actually discuss that). Geri also talks about their gay fanbase, which she often did, really...something that was fairly rare at that time for an act geared toward kids/teens.

 

There's one point Mel C dispels a rumor that they'd recorded a song called Desire...a song which had (according to the tabloid) made Geri cry. Interesting coincidence that Geri, of course, *would* record a Desire years later.

 

They must have been quite exhausted. I know they liked to say the operation never ran smoother than in the months following Simon's firing...but I feel their energy as a group was never lower than the two months before Geri left. There are a lot of these sorts of appearances from then where they just seem...over...it. It doesn't help that Geri and Mel C are so overtly scolding the press here. I mean. I'm sure some of them in there deserved it. But...they did have lots of lovely articles in that era too? It's a really downbeat presser.

I agree I think when you compare to previous press conferences where they would have the press up doing a wave and Mel B and Geri would be running round the audience and they'd be playing pranks etc it's a very different feel. I used to think it was because they had "grown up" but in reality this less than 2 years on. They must have been exhausted so it is understandable.

 

The sign language interpreter at the shows was amazing, I was able to understand everything the girls said which I never do at concerts, the only other concert I've been able to understand the speaking parts is Kylie at Pride as they had an interpreter in the Golden circle and deaf people were granted access to it. These things really should be standard. I was bitterly disappointed to see there was none at TROTSG tour or the SW2019. :(

Touring is exhausting, these days artists don't do much at all while on tour. All the announcements etc would be done through social media now.

THE SPICE GIRLS are about to launch their own online game.

 

I can reveal they are working on the idea and reunited in London this week to shoot content for it — but Victoria Beckham is still refusing to get involved.

 

Geri Horner, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Melanie C met for the first time in more than a year at Black Island Studios in West London to record pieces in front of the camera for the game.

 

But they are remaining as a four-piece because Victoria doesn’t want to be part of it, and is currently 4,400 miles away in sunny Miami.

 

A source said: “The Spice Girls are exploring a whole manner of new projects but this one was really exciting to them — their very own Spice game.

 

“All four women came together on Tuesday at the studios to shoot pieces to camera for it.

 

“The hope is that it won’t be too long before they get to show it to the fans because it’s something they’ve had in the pipeline for a while.

 

“It is one of several things they are working on, including an animated film, and they hope it will help celebrate the Spice Girls’ legacy.

 

 

“They want to go on tour again as soon as it is viable. But in the meantime, they are enjoying doing these quirky projects, which will make them plenty of cash.”

 

The Spice Girls reunited in 2019 for a stadium tour across the UK. But Posh Spice, left, decided not to be involved because she did not want to take time away from her eponymous fashion business and suffers from stage fright.

 

The group then planned to do another tour this year to mark 25 years since the release of their debut single Wannabe.

 

But they were forced to axe preliminary plans after realising it would be too risky to announce it due to the uncertainty over Covid restrictions.

 

I’m not convinced that an online game is exactly what their fan base really, really want in 2021.

 

But if they Wannabe cool with the next generation, perhaps it is the perfect trick.

Creating an online game and an animated movie is so silly. Their target audience is women and gay men in their 30's. What are they thinking? A new album is what fans really want.

I have to say though it is annoying that Victoria won’t lend a face to things like this (if it’s true) or the “I wannabe a spice girl” or Walkers advert, Little Miss Spice Girls etc but yet she is more than happy to rope the girls in for her own tshirt… I get the touring fair enough but photo shoots etc there’s no reason she can’t be involved.

It's all to do with her own brand, unfortunately. Minimal involvement publicly means her brand doesnt get 'damaged' cos it is trying to appeal to 'high class people' :puke2: instead of the 'everybody' that the Spice Girls focus on.

 

It's a shame really, but to be honest, they should get over tacky shit like this and focus on music which is what seemingly everyone apart from the girls themselves want to do :(

OT: We don’t need her. I’ve always been pro-5 Spice reunion. But as this is probably going to be their last world tour (they’re not 20 anymore), I’m ok with 4. The Spice World 2019 tour was Amazing. Emma still got it, the Mels dance their ass off like it was the 90s, and Geri brings some Posh.

Yes agree but they will absolutely do more dates in the UK than elsewhere. It's just too profitable to do UK and USA as they would have the bigger audiences there. But they should absolutely RAM South East Asia and Australia and South America with stadium dates too. Like, they could totally do a few across Japan, China and Singapore (say 10 dates tops) and then 5 in Australia/New Zealand and then go 5 across South America and finish in USA (5 or 6 as well) and then finish with a return to the UK with like 5 back to back dates at Wembley and call it a day.

 

(in reality, they will do 15 in the UK, 5 in USA and then call it a day due to scheduling issues :teresa: )

Finally. Melanie C and Emma are also fully aware of that. I love the video where Melanie C leaves a message to Emma asking if there’s a way to prevent Geri to wear all white 😂
