I find Geri absolutely painful these days and I'll happily admit if she wasn't in the spice girls I'm pretty sure I'd despise the person she is now.

It's hard to know if she even is happy. It is very Bree off Desperate Housewives putting on this constant show but who knows what she feels away from the camera. If she was my friend I'd be genuinely worried about her complete personality transplant not to mention the wearing white.

Let's not go that far. Let her live.

Ahh I enjoyed this trip down memory lane, thanks for posting! It was particularly interesting to hear her thoughts on the 2007 version of the dress... I'm not sure if I remember her discussing that one in much detail before.

 

I do find her 'all white' image to be rather curious, she's kept this up for a good 18 months or so now. I suppose if she genuinely feels comfortable and good about herself right now, then that's the main thing... hmm.

I think she is happy she's living the life she strived for in If Only. I can see why the white wearing posher persona she now embodies would annoy and yes she has certainly changed outwardly but when she sits and talks like this she is still the same old Geri deep down.

The author gets a couple of details wrong but other than that it's a great book and gives more of an insight into all of their childhoods/teen years and some of the jobs they did leading up to the 1994 audition :)

Ah okay, I'll keep that in mind when it comes to details! I'm currently up to chapter 8 and have been really enjoying the childhood/teen year bits, like Geri I was born in Watford so reading about her early years is always of great interest to me in particular.

I'm like that when reading Mel B's books as I am from Leeds so it's really interesting reading her take on places in Leeds and also the horrific way Leeds discriminated against her ancestors (disgusts me). Also love in her first book how she talks about having a "pot as we call them up North or a plaster cast to everyone else" :wub:
