"High School": nice to have Kelsea Ballerini making good pop country music!

"I Miss You": while not as great as Clean Bandit's earlier stuff, like "Rather Be" or "Rockabye", it's still a great song, former #1 for me!

I Miss You is stunning, it still won't quit growing on me

Wooo, a song I actually know :cheer:

"I Miss You" is really, really underrated. I get that it's not quite as instant as something like "Tears" or "Real Love" (my two personal Clean Bandit faves :heehee: ) but I loved the production on it as usual and the chorus ended up getting really stuck in my head. I'm glad it was an official top 10 in the end!! :cheer:

Agreed, still wish it could have gone #1 though :( Thanks Josh!

Loveee I Miss You  managed number 1 for me too and will appear at around the same position in my EOY as it has in yours!

Great to hear! Thanks Jeff!

I Miss You is brill, though I do expect better from Clean Bandit these days especially after the life changing Symphony.

Swap I Miss You & Symphony around and I'll agree :P Thanks Dan!

Glad you like these songs! Like I said, Clean Bandit's last album was way better :( Thanks Sergej!

Change once word from my #85 and we've got my #84 :P Armin once again brought out a banger that only just missed out on a position at #1, alongside two people I'd never heard of in my life before. Listening to this again now helps me realise how much I loved this song, reminding me of the early-2017 invinsibility felling I had when getting Spotify for the first time. I believe this is the first song from the early part of the year to show up, but it's certainly not the last!

#83: Schwarz - Home

Peak: 01 / Month of Peak: March 2017

Schwarz' Chart History:

2017 01 Home

So I first discovered this when holding a contest on my YouTube channel (which is now defunct as it's now really hard to download songs from YouTube :( ) It's one of those songs that doesn't do much for you if you just hear the chorus, but the song as a whole works really well, and hence it got my #1, albeit being a bit of a fluke at that time of year. It was obviously then entered into BJSC by Wardy and then...well...forgotten about. I've just given his new single, In Your Eyes, a listen - it's good but not as good as this!

#1 Ranking

#36. Schwarz - Home

#37. Clean Bandit ft. Julia Michaels - I Miss You

#38. Oceans - Deep Blue

#39. LVNDSCAPE ft. Mi Manchi - In My Mind

#40. The Strumbellas - Young & Wild

Think I remember Wardy playing Home on plug once and it was quite good :music:

Yeah, he did send it to BJSC! Just wish he'd put a bit more faith behind it :(

I was aware of Denney from his 2015 tune Low Frequencies, which is insanely catchy, but I didn't really know much about this guy. Then this came out. This remix of a Mekon track was released, and immediately I knew this was right up my street - the dance/rapper combo is always something I love and this was no exception! I'll certainly be looking out for anything else this guy does!

#81: Isaiah - Streets of Gold

Peak: 02 / Month of Peak: September 2017

Isaiah's Chart History:

2017 02 Streets of Gold

I'm not gonna lie, this guy's Eurovision entry was absolutely abysmal, so I wasn't exactly motivated to listen to any of his other stuff. As it was, I had his previous single, It's Gotta Be You, suggested to me in a music contest, and that completely changed my mind about this guy. Instead of the desperate-sounding Eurovision flop, this was a ballad I could instantly get stuck in my head. After that, I was pretty excited to hear his next single, which happened to be Streets of Gold. Fortunately, this was more of an It's Gotta Be You as opposed to a Don't Come Easy, and I was instantly on board, this single peaking at #2 before unfortunately dropping like a stone. Still good though!

Brilliant to see I Miss You feature, it was a slow burner but I really enjoy it now.

Another fan of Streets of Gold   Isaiah sounds brilliant on it, his best so far for me.

I Miss You is another solid track from them, hope they don't hold off this album for too much longer.

I Need You however didn't do anything for me, really put off by the vocals on it.

Home is a cool track! I admittedly had forgotten all about it myself but cheers for the reminder :kink:

I Need You is my favourite Armin song actually! :o Home is definitely a grower though so I guess it is fairly forgettable if you only listen to it once or twice ;) Thanks Dobbo!

Jerry Williams' Chart History:

2017 01 Boy Oh Boy (MOWE ft. Jerry Williams)

Now it's time for the first of three entries from my personal unknown pleasure, Austrian production duo MOWE! I never planned on this being a #1, however the lack of any decent songs at this point of the year meant that it got there to prevent Elina Born getting her third week there. This is a remix of a track by Jerry Williams, adding a lovely dance beat to the already amazing vocals, and this reminds me of my week in the Lakes

BQL's Chart History:

So I was very aware of Maraaya from their amazing Eurovision entry Here For You, and their even better follow-up Living Again, so I was looking forward to their new output! Safe to say, whilst it took a while to get into, this certainly didn't disappoint, and whilst this is my least favourite of the three, I still really liked it! Apparently they've got a new song out called Diamond Duck so I better check that out~

Like the Schwarz and Denny tracks both made the lower end of my weekly top 100. Hope there's some justice for the former in Rejects though that is unlikely as Wardy won't be able to vote in it.

Hmm yeah - could be an idea for Andra Chansen actually but I'm probably going to be a little more adventurous ;)

#78: Elina Born - In Or Out

Peak: 01 / Month of Peak: April 2017

Elina Born's Chart History:

2017 01 In Or Out

The official Brexit song :kink: I discovered this on someone else's YouTube charts and it struck me instantly. Obviously I knew Elina from her amazing Eurovision entry, and this Eesti Laul entry was just as catchy! Unfortunately it was quite 'generic' so to speak and the only reason it spent 2 weeks at #1 was that there was nothing else around even slightly deserving of a #1. Hence why it's so low.

#77: Emeli Sandé - Highs & Lows

Peak: 06 / Month of Peak: March 2017

Emeli Sandé's Chart History:

2017 06 Highs & Lows

I didn't (and still don't) really care that much for Emeli Sandé, however this fun upbeat track really caught me, with the cheery message and the major piano key. I'm surprised at myself for not actually putting this in the top 5 as it certainly deserved it! She needs to release more songs like this.
