December 15, 20177 yr Location  Still Khalid's best song IMO, but even though the rest were hits and this wasn't I'm glad he's had such a big breakthrough this year. He deserves it!
December 15, 20177 yr Author Location is amazing  really should have been huge here too, it sounds like such an obvious hit idk what happened :( At least he finally got his solo hit in the UK with Young, Dumb & Broke which is fantastic too. Can't wait to see what he brings out next!! Thanks for commenting BridgeCow!! Location  Still Khalid's best song IMO, but even though the rest were hits and this wasn't I'm glad he's had such a big breakthrough this year. He deserves it! Young, Dumb & Broke definitely ranks slightly higher for me but all of the stuff I've heard from him has been excellent. I'm super excited to see what he releases next :w00t: Thanks for commenting Jordan!!
December 15, 20177 yr Author 131. Snakehips & MØ - Don't Leave / / (9-9-12-23-41-47-x) 6 weeks 132. London On Da Track ft. Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage, Offset - No Flag / / (32-24-17-16-18-27-31-x) 7 weeks 133. G-Eazy ft. A$AP Rocky, Cardi B - No Limit / / (24-21-15-16-22-27-39-x) 7 weeks 134. Charlie Puth - Attention / / (38-23-15-13-18-23-35-43-50-x) 9 weeks 135. Disciples - On My Mind / / (23-22-18-19-19-29-29-33-34-33-37-x) 11 weeks The song with the highest peak here is actually the one with the shortest run because I happened to go off Don't Leave pretty quickly, I haven't heard it in quite a while though so it's sounding pretty fresh on re-listen :o No Flag and No Limit have decent catchy choruses but the real highlight of both tracks is the female rap guest verse, both Cardi and Nicki absolutely kill it on those tracks *.* I was a fan of the cheesy Charlie Puth tracks too like "Marvin Gaye" and "One Call Away" but he has really come into his own this era and the new sound he has created with Attention really works for him, he still has a track to come too! On My Mind refused to get old for a long time and had a pretty lengthy run on my chart but I got a bit sick of it in the end and haven't gone back to it much in a long while hence it's slightly low EOY position despite the good chart run :(
December 16, 20177 yr On My Mind is one the best dance songs this year, amazing  Really like Attention too, he's going in a good direction based on this year.
December 16, 20177 yr YASSS at Declan and Taylor in your album top 10  Lana is a good winner too, her best album since Born to Die for me! Don't Leave and Attention are both brilliant tracks  the former never seems to get as much appreciation as it should :(
December 16, 20177 yr Author On My Mind is one the best dance songs this year, amazing  Really like Attention too, he's going in a good direction based on this year. Yeah, I'm sure excited for Charlie's album to drop! If these two pre-album singles are anything to go by then it should be good :cheer: Thanks for commenting Dobbo! YASSS at Declan and Taylor in your album top 10  Lana is a good winner too, her best album since Born to Die for me! Don't Leave and Attention are both brilliant tracks  the former never seems to get as much appreciation as it should :( Haven't seen Don't Leave mentioned in months now  I almost forgot it existed until I went back and compiled my EOY  Still a bit of a bop but I do wish it was a bigger hit :( Thanks for commenting Joseph! Love all the songs except for #132, which I haven't heard yet. You should definitely listen to No Flag, it's pretty catchy and features a great Nicki verse! Thanks for commenting Serge!
December 16, 20177 yr Author 126. Glass Animals - Pork Soda / / (19-19-13-15-15-23-23-25-28-38-46-x) 11 weeks 127. Zara Larsson - So Good / / (25-6-10-13-20-25-33-41-46-x) 9 weeks 128. Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber - Despacito (Remix) / / (5-1-2-9-13-17-21-33-50-x) 9 weeks 129. ALMA - Chasing Highs / / (34-12-12-8-10-14-31-44-x) 8 weeks 130. Marshmello feat. Khalid - Silence / / (26-12-14-16-26-25-31-39-42-45-44-x) 11 weeks Oops, and we have our first personal chart #1 drop out already !! :o Overplay does horrible things and I'd rather not listen to Despacito ever again really but I did love it once for a few weeks over summer and therefore it seems unfair to not include it at all in my EOY. So Good and Chasing Highs were both fleeting top 10 hits in my chart but Zara is capable of so much more and I went off Chasing Highs pretty quickly too. Silence had a lovely long run but unfortunately I'm a bit sick of it at the moment so its EOY ranking has suffered a bit here. Glass Animals were big on my chart last year too and that continued this year with the lengthy chart run of Pork Soda. I think "Youth" is still their best for me but this comes really close and I can't wait for them to return (soon, hopefully!!)
December 17, 20177 yr On My Mind  I guess it did get overplayed, I still think it's great they got another hit though! Chasing Highs was very good as well! I do hope she can get another proper hit :(
December 17, 20177 yr Author On My Mind  I guess it did get overplayed, I still think it's great they got another hit though! Chasing Highs was very good as well! I do hope she can get another proper hit :( "How Deep Is Your Love" definitely remains their best for me but I think I slightly preferred "They Don't Know" too. I quite liked "Jealousy" as well though so it's a shame that didn't take off :( "Phases" was a bit of a disappointment but hopefully the follow-up to that will be an absolute banger and she can get another chart hit, fingers crossed!! Thanks for commenting Pete! :D
December 17, 20177 yr Author 121. Beyonce - All Night / / (36-31-29-42-47-44-x) 6 weeks 122. Naughty Boy feat. Kyla & Popcaan - Should've Been Me / / (28-7-11-11-14-23-33-47-x) 8 weeks 123. Circa Waves - Fire That Burns / / (14-11-13-16-24-29-34-41-45-47-46-x) 11 weeks 124. Mabel feat. Kojo Funds - Finders Keepers / / (33-28-21-15-16-15-25-34-49-x) 9 weeks 125. Ed Sheeran - Shape of You / / (5-4-6-6-10-17-18-22-27-36-39-43-x) 12 weeks Following on from Despacito in the last batch, Shape of You also illustrates how a song can be destroyed by overplay. 12 weeks is a pretty decent chart run in my chart but then it continued to follow me months afterwards on radio and on TV and elsewhere and I couldn't bear to hear it. It's not so bad now but not enjoyable enough to salvage a top 100 placing despite a pretty good chart run. In contrast, the run for All Night doesn't look all that impressive but that was because most of my love for the track had occurred in 2016 before it was announced as a single. I really thought Should've Been Me was gonna be huge earlier in the year but it never took off and seems completely forgotten now, it would have sounded perfect over the summer months :( When Circa Waves first arrived back, "Wake Up" took a long time to grow on me but Fire That Burns was much more instant for me and remains the highlight of that album for me. I never really took notice of Finders Keepers during its first release but it really grew on me when it started to pick up radio support more recently, it's a super smooth little R&B track and I can't wait to see what she does next!
December 17, 20177 yr Finders Keepers is really nice  and I think if she plays her cards right she could become a bit of a name here! Excited to hear new stuff from her
December 17, 20177 yr Author 116. Selena Gomez & Marshmello - Wolves / / (22-17-12-11-13-9-22-...) 7 weeks (so far) 117. Louis Tomlinson & Bebe Rexha - Back to You / / (13-10-12-16-22-21-29-x) 7 weeks 118. Playboi Carti - Magnolia / / (40-19-14-15-23-27-28-35-x) 8 weeks 119. Ariana Grande feat. Future - Everyday / / (15-8-4-5-9-13-24-32-42-48-x) 10 weeks 120. Niall Horan - Too Much to Ask / / (48-29-12-14-15-14-16-27-36-48-x) 10 weeks We start off this batch with Wolves which is the most recent track to appear in this section. I am starting to go off it a little now but it should manage at least a 10 week chart run which is not bad once all is said and done. I do prefer the sound she was going for with stuff like "Fetish" and "Good For You" though to be honest. Solo One Direction tracks Too Much to Ask and Back to You also both drop out here meaning only Zayn has tracks left to come in the EOY from 1D. Everyday was a bit of a forgettable single in hindsight and only really peaked so high due to lack of new releases at the time but I still enjoy listening to it from time to time so it deserves a spot on my EOY. The final track to mention is Magnolia which is just a bit of an anthem really, I remember it coming on in a club once and it really going off which did help me appreciate it even more :music:
December 18, 20177 yr Author 111. Sam Smith - Too Good at Goodbyes / / (19-11-10-7-5-10-18-32-x) 8 weeks 112. alt-j - Deadcrush / / (19-12-16-17-24-28-31-39-x) 8 weeks 113. Nicki Minaj - Regret In Your Tears / / (7-8-10-20-31-34-45-x) 7 weeks 114. Zayn feat. PartyNextDoor - Still Got Time / / (26-26-11-11-17-18-28-36-40-47-x) 10 weeks 115. Arcade Fire - Everything Now / / (24-28-36-36-46-50-xx-34-46-48-x) 9 weeks Another example of overplay killing of a song very quickly here is Too Good at Goodbyes. I was one of the few people on here who was a big fan of it for a while but I went off it really quickly as it continued to plague the radios/official top 10 for far too long. Regret in Your Tears was my original favourite of the three singles that Nicki Minaj released in early 2017 but No Frauds grew on me much slower and is yet to be revealed in this countdown so watch this space!! Still Got Time and Deadcrush are both brilliant tracks but neither are my favourite of the year from their respective artists so stay tuned for more appearances from both of those two as well. I've never really taken any notice of Arcade Fire but the upbeat joyous sound of Everything Now really grabbed me and even persuaded me to listen to their album
December 18, 20177 yr There are many songs I like, the only expections are "Regret In Your Tears" and especially "Magnolia", I've put the latter one in my worst songs list.
December 19, 20177 yr Author Finders Keepers is really nice  and I think if she plays her cards right she could become a bit of a name here! Excited to hear new stuff from her I hope so! Out of all the Brits Critics Choice nominees, I think she's the one that I'm most excited to hear more from (Ding a Ling has totally ruined my hype for Stefflon Don )... Thanks for commenting, BridgeCow!! There are many songs I like, the only expections are "Regret In Your Tears" and especially "Magnolia", I've put the latter one in my worst songs list. Awh, Magnolia just refused to get old for me  I'm glad you approve of the rest though :heehee: Thanks for commenting !! :D
December 19, 20177 yr Author 106. Clean Bandit feat. Julia Michaels - I Miss You / / (36-11-8-7-4-4-6-19-...) 8 weeks (so far) 107. Shakira feat. Maluma - Chantaje / / (13-7-7-20-31-35-41-49-x) 8 weeks 108. Lana Del Rey - Love / / (29-10-12-15-21-25-35-36-37-41-49-46-x) 12 weeks 109. Kungs feat. Ephemerals - I Feel So Bad / / (24-9-7-6-6-11-22-39-x) 8 weeks 110. Paloma Faith - Guilty / / (18-7-7-8-10-24-27-x) 7 weeks I Miss You becomes the first track to really suffer from just being too recent to make a big impact here. With more time, I'm sure it could've been top 75 or so but there are tracks still to come that have stuck with me for many months whereas I'm not sure how I'll feel about this in many months. Chantaje was a big hit worldwide earlier in the year and I was praying it would get a Despacito/Subeme La Radio style English remix to turn it into a hit here but it never happened which is a shame :( Love gave me my Lana fix for a few months but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't my least favourite tracks on the album so stay tuned for a few more entries from her still to come. I was a big fan of "This Girl" last year which was a personal chart #1 for me and I Feel So Bad was basically the same song but a bit less catchy, I'm sure that sound would get boring after more tracks like it but I enjoyed this one very much anyway. Guilty is another one of the more recent tracks but I've gone off this one pretty quickly, it still has had a pretty good top 10 run but oops at it falling out of the top 50 from #27
December 19, 20177 yr So Good really killed any momentum Zara had in my charts. I didn't really enjoy the album either so she hasn't been able to recover. Chasing Highs is comfortably my least favourite song of the year. Everything about it irritates me. Finders Keepers is a great track. It took quite a few listens for me to get into it but it was worth it. Everyday was such a waste of a single. Although I do absolutely love it, it was never going to do anything in the charts. Wolves  I think this might be my favourite Selena song of the year. I hadn't really liked anything else I've heard from Marshmello before so this really exceeded my expectations.
December 20, 20177 yr Attention is such a banger, way too low :( I was so shocked at how much I loved it!!
