Cola & Believer don’t deserve to be here :o Neither does Castle on the Hill in terms of quality, most people hate it because of how overplayed it was/is

Most of the songs I voted for are out already then! Seems hip-hop will be taking the biggest hit this year.
Surely if you're going to hate Cola for anything, it'd be the potential "U.O.E.N.O."-like lyrics in the chorus.

I don't think the lyrics are about date rape, suppose it could be interpreted that way but the lyrics don't mention anything about taking her home like 'UOENO'.
Yeah it's not directly implied, but it's so unclear that it stops me from wanting to root for the song personally.

Glad to see all of the Katy songs, 'Castle On The Hill' and 'Cola' being pretty low down. None of them had any business being on here. If any of the Katy hits of the year should have been here it was 'Feels' lol ~ and even after overplay 'Castle On The Hill' is among my favourite songs of the year and my 2nd favourite Ed Sheeran single (after 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You').

Not gonna lie, the lyrics of 'Cola' are a bit eyebrow-raising. But they're never mentioned at all in reviews / when the song is played on the radio etc. so I guess everyone is just ignoring that.

Errr no at Ed Sheeran's worst song of the year by far being the first out :hand:

Cola is still hideous, a tarnish of the Dance genre this year.

This is a bit of a bop and probably the best thing (bar Help Me Out) that Maroon 5 have done in a while but I just cannot stand Adam's voice one bit, it grates on me so much and he once again ruins the song.

34. Rag'n'Bone Man - Human

I'm shocked and disappointed this isn't way higher than 34th, I thought this would actually be a top 10 contender here! I utterly hate this and it's so overplayed that I'm beyond sick of it. I cannot stand his voice and this is just one of those songs that is totally not for me, idg how it's been such a massive hit.

33. Machine Gun Kelly feat. Camila Cabello - Bad Things

I don't love this but I wouldn't have this in the hatechart either! It's just so 2012ish that it just feels out of place in today's landscape, I feel I would've loved this if it was released 5 years earlier :kink: Camila's chorus is really good and I also find MGK quite underrated so this is a solid song. Though MGK's collab with Hailee>>>>>.this, that deserved to smash :(

Trash. He's one of those artists that I really struggle to separate the art from the artist. This song is dreadful anyway and as of my latest knowledge, he's now in prison.

One of the many beige tracks Drake released this year and I lowkey forget Drake actually released a 'playlist' this year  This is just more rubbish and I'm glad icr how it rly goes!

Indeed it is eyebrow raising and I am not sure whether its right to discuss this subject matter in a song, but I suppose its a very dark song both lyrically and musically though, and the lyrics do fit with the brooding music.

'Bad Things' does sound so out of place, although I would say more 2010 than 2012 reminscent as it does have a similar sort of structure as Airplanes/Love The Way You Lie with the male rap in the verses and then the sung female vocal in the chorus.

30. DJ Khaled feat. Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper & Lil Wayne - I'm the One

DJ Khaled and his posse gave him the UK break that had evaded him for years whilst racking up the US hits, having only previously made the chart once before with 'For Free' going to #25. Now I really like this song but with three rap verses it does go on a bit longer than it really needs to. I'm sure the people voting for this are only jealous that they can't get a #1 hit by just shouting their name all over the track (and I suppose doing the production too).

29. Digital Farm Animals feat. Hailee Steinfeld - Digital Love

Surprised this song has enough vocal haters here as it wasn't a hit of any size anywhere, but it is quite poor to be fair. With lyrics such as 'I swipe right cos I see just what I like' and a generic Chainsmokers esque structure and breakdown, it really wasn't one of the year's finest moments in dance music.

28. Imagine Dragons - Thunder

They really did go overboard with the vocal pitching effect on this didn't they?

Well it's a big rap hit so of course Buzzjack are silly enough to hate it. I'm glad this isn't a lot higher though, it's one of my faves to come out of the current hip-hop scene.

What the shit is this? Seriously, what happened to this band? I suppose it's not as messy as 'American Beauty/American Psycho', but it's still something that never should have happened.
