December 6, 20178 yr Yes, looking like U2 will be lucky to stay at #3...I would say #5. Fair play to Sam Smith, Eminem will grab a week at the top the week after next but Sam has some decent Promo between now and Xmas and Sales should continue to improve. Usually Id agreed Eminem getting an instant number 1 on release week but it is also Christmas week
December 6, 20178 yr Author a 12 page mid thread and its not even the xmas week mid thread  I'm guessing its safe to post in here now. :heehee:
December 6, 20178 yr Usually Id agreed Eminem getting an instant number 1 on release week but it is also Christmas week It would be great if Eminem got the Xmas #1 album. I can’t remember his last album which didn’t reach number 1 although I wouldn’t mind if Sam got it but I can’t be doing with Ed getting another Xmas #1 album
December 6, 20178 yr Usually Id agreed Eminem getting an instant number 1 on release week but it is also Christmas week That's true, I hadn't fully realized that , I would expect Sam Smith to get 100k+ that week, he is performing on Graham Norton Show on the Friday (15th) as well (ie the day Eminem is releasing) so will get a decent boost from that.
December 6, 20178 yr Those Christmas songs in the top 10 look very safe to stay there now. That said, Wham better not overtake Mariah. No chance of that, Mariah is 3.3k ahead of Wham! today. She is currently outperforming them on iTunes & Spotify: Mariah iTunes: #27, #34 Wham! iTunes: #37, #56, #1011 Mariah Spotify: #3 (339,486 streams) Wham! Spotify: #5 (309,904 streams) I would say the only chance Wham! has of overtaking Mariah is in Christmas week itself, if the campaign takes off! Is there much chance of The Pogues clinging onto the top 10? Hoping they do as it'll be their first week in the top 10 since 2007 (before peaking in the 11-15 region nearly every year since then). I guess they'll have more chances in the next few weeks even if they do miss out this time though. Seems likely that they could hold on! They're on 14.6k, and 2.1k ahead of #11. They're actually closer to #9, less than 400 copies.
December 6, 20178 yr but I read eminem might be out this Fri already as download, not sure about streaming, with the CD out next week?
December 6, 20178 yr pretty bad for u2 but everybody saw it coming, as they've lost all quality control over the songs, crazy how well Sam is selling, I was disappointed with hist 1st week sales but right now he's doing better than I expected surprised Buble is not top 40 in singles, he's been top 20 on spotify all week, or is he on acr? looks like Louis Tomlinson is gonna miss, the 1D guys are also really having zero quality control and releasing very poort songs, this could easily qualify as worst single of the year together with Payne's Bedroom floor This tbh Releasing everythin n the kіtchen sink
December 6, 20178 yr Sam Smith is unfortunately looking likely to build up some very respectable sales in the coming weeks which will ensure he gets over having an under performing album number 2 like Emeli Sande suffered. Wonderful that Mariah is safe for a top 5 return, thank you Jay for the information. When Mariah released this classic way back in 1992 i wonder did she or the record company ever foresee how huge it would become. For Mariah, its turned out to be the only song she has that can get her in the charts these days when her new material seems to fail in doing so.
December 6, 20178 yr Gwen is #23 on iTunes rn - does she have a shot of top 40? Her album is out of stock on Amazon so her debut will probably going to be more digital based.

Soz for being pedantic but "All I Want For Christmas" came out in 1994, not 1992. It's a little annoying that the "Merry Christmas" album isn't as popular in the UK like it is in the US and Australia, Mariah's Xmas album is so good. Edited December 6, 20178 yr by PeaceMob
December 6, 20178 yr Wham will overtake Maria Carey on the week beginning the 15 th of December, anyone know where listen without predudice is in the latest update?

He might not have the first week sales, but who cares when he has continuously high/ moderate sales? Maybe people get round to buyin it or picking it up on their weekly shop, but don't rush oot to buy a Sam Smith album.
December 6, 20178 yr thanks diva rita set for number 3 this week - consistent-CI hope you're right, coz it'd actually kill me if she was number 2 behind Ed this week, due to the remix :(
December 6, 20178 yr Can Rak-Su go #2? Will be easily #2 in tomorrow's update, touch-and-go with the made-up Thursday streaming added what happens in the final tally on Friday- I suspect they may just hang on by a few hundred.
December 6, 20178 yr U2 are indeed selling worse than The Killers, wow http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/3...er-than-U2.html :kink: Took them long enough :kink:
December 6, 20178 yr Has little mix dropped back out of the top 10Nope. They're at 6 and safe at that position apparently :D
December 6, 20178 yr Hopefully Leona and Kelly can go top 40 and are top 100 so far I know I know you only have top 40s  Edited December 6, 20178 yr by 777666jason
