I think Jess Glynne is being severely underestimated by many here. The one I do agree with that everyone seems to be unanimous about is Ariana Grande coming back with stratospheric effect.

I also think you're all underestimating Jess Glynne,

Clean Bandit should release a newie soon, and sure its gonna be either Jess Glynne or Sam Smith

 

It's because barely anybody likes Jess here, so OBVIOUSLY that means she's going to flop :lol:

If a UK rap artist does get to #1, I hope it is actually with a rap song. Not a pop-dance hybrid like Heatwave.

I could see someone like Stormzy or Cardi B getting a #01 with the right song.

No idea! The main targets seem to be her and Sam from what I've seen here over the years.

I could see someone like Stormzy or Cardi B getting a #01 with the right song.

 

I'm not sure that Stormzy will release new music next year, but he definitely has the widespread appeal to get to #1. Maybe Skepta would get a big hit if he released or even someone like Stefflon Don.

With Jess Glynne, I know she was hugely successful with her first album but it doesn't really feel like the world is waiting for new music from her.

 

If she featured on a Clean Bandit single obviously that would be huge, but I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if she has a poor performing second era.

Everyone gets really excited about the prospect of actually having a decent number of #1s, then Drake releases a Latin single featuring Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber which spends 30 weeks at the top.

Everyone on BJ said Sam Smith would have a poor, Emeli Sande like second era then he grabbed a #1 single & album. The album of which was one of the highest selling of the year despite having a fraction of the time on sale. Jess Glynne I can see something similar happening. Her first single & album will be #1s but post-album singles will be less impactful (obviously). A CB single would do wonders for igniting some hype for her comeback. My Love proved she could do deep house so maybe she’ll be on Jax Jones next single too :kink:

I’ve always quite liked Jess Glynne. She had some great tunes and then I quite enjoyed her debut album which surprised me because her style wasn’t, and still isn’t, anything I’d listen to regularly. I do feel she will underperform on her return just because most artists do and it seems people have forgotten her.

 

I don’t know why anyone on here hates her so much though. I’ve heard ‘lack of personality’ being batted about but this criticism can easily be levelled at a lot of artists stunned on this forum.

Dido will release a new album but I will be the only person who notices.

Weren't people saying that before I Miss You was announced too? :P All we know is that they've worked with both Jess and Sam, no indication of whether either song will be the next single yet!

 

Jess Glynne's always seemed well loved on here actually, more than she deserves! :lol: I don't think she'll do as well as she did first time round, but I think she'll have decent success, particularly if the material is Spotify friendly.

Jess Glynne doesn't get that much hate, people think it's hilarious to ironically state her as "queen of music" incessantly when she's mentioned which is much worse than her music :lol:

 

I just think she's a bit basic and nothing exciting personally, but she has some bops. Sometimes you don't need all the bells and whistles and a huge personality but I don't get how she was so successfu realy.

And tbh, everyone knows Dido is Queen of Music.
