I hear Kim Wilde is releasing a comeback single.

Oh my! hype! Her 'You Keep Me Hanging On' cover is amazing (she should collab with Initial Talk actually as the production is similar to his Dua Lipa 80s remix), as is 'The Second Time'. Never really liked 'Kids in America' though, rather immature and annoying song imo.

I expect that will be big, Kojo Funds seems to be one of those rappers who's been big but not in the charts yet (excluding his Finders Keepers feature). Could even debut top 40.

Which of course some people disagree, thinking an act can't be big if they're not in the charts.

Yeah I get what you mean about 'Kids In America'. However 'You Meep Me Hangin' On', 'You Came', 'Never Trust A Stranger', 'Four Letter Word' and 'Love Is Holy' are all 80s/90s classics! Not holding out much hope for her comeback being any good though.

"Kids In America" is an incredible New Wave classic!
.

I suppose its a fun enough song, maybe I have judged it too harshly.

I must check out her early stuff, but I will probably still think her cover of 'You Keep Me Hanging On' is my favourite from her, what a big sounding dance tune that is, amazing production too!

Would be great if she collabed with Initial Talk who made that Dua Lipa 80s remix! I hope her comeback is upbeat synthpop though!

Yep never Trust A Stranger is very good too, especially that chorus!

I think its time for a Kim Wilde singles rate on the retro forum soon tbh!

"Kids In America" is one of the many songs that reminds me of playing GTA: Vice City as a kid, my favourite game of all time  The soundtrack on that was just immense and introduced me to the 80s.
for a minute I thought Kim passed away, seeing all this talk about Kim Wilde, I didn't see the previous page, she was my crush  in the 80s, I grew up listening to her music, Love Blonde  You Came  Kids In America is my fave. Also Chequered Love  The Second Time, You Keep Me Hangin' On, the list is endless. Must search her greatest hits album :D

'Cambodia' is one I've regularly gone back to over the years.

I don't know a lot of her discography though. Her finest moment was her rendition of 'Kids In America' when she was on the tube.

I also remember when One Direction murdered Kids in America on the X Factor

my fav kim wilde era is 86-88, her cover of You Keep me Hanging on, Another Stef,

You Came and Never Trust a Stranger

Some of her good ones include “You Came” and “The Second Time” I met her back in 2004 when she came to Telford

Nothing will be better than the Varioud Artists cover of Keep Me Hangin On though

I have a question - what was the song that dethroned Stan after just 1 week? As that seemed like a MASSIVE song att

If you mean Eminem’s ‘Stan’ then it was Bob The Builder ‘Can We Fix It?’

So another massive instant classic then :yahoo:

Oh of course!! Surprised I forgot that tbh. That was an EVEN BIGGER classic!! And will forever be thanked for stopping CorporateMusicLife from another cover at no.1!

You Came is erring a bit too much on the Stock Aitken Waterman side of 80s pop music but it is alright!

Nothing will be better than the Various Artists cover of Keep Me Hangin On though

Haven't heard it but the production in Kim's version (produced by her brother actually) can't really be beaten imo. Such a big sounding dance tune!
