They've handled the singles release completely and utterly wrong and I really believe that's why the album has floundered so much at the lower end of the chart.

They were always a predominantly singles act. Their album sold, based on what was a single at that time. They really should've pushed TAU the week they performed on Graham Norton, imo. And I think it might've fared a bit better, but ultimately, they probs should've gone for The Cure or Monster In Me for winter. Radio woulda been ALL OVER those I think.

TAU is becoming a hit, but the album hasn't really benefitted coz they've not really promoted it whilst it's been a single. Nobody wanted (as incredible as it was) another WLM performance 4 months after it premiered...they're in a position to be able to perform their current single on an awards show.

Woman Like Me and Think About Us are much weaker than their previous singles, and they're not really the type of singles to shift albums either. I think the general public are a bit bored of them too tbh. I actually think a short hiatus would do them the world of good, make the public miss them.

I’d say the hiatus between glory days and woman like me was pretty long. Woman like me was the first music they were in for a year. Only You came out 8 months after RL but they weren’t even in the video or promoted.

Yeah it’s an odd one because singles sales have been good and the tour is selling the same as last time round. They’re likely doing a brand new single and adding it to the album. I think they need a cheesy banger like shout out to sell albums.

Their biggest album sellers have been slower songs / ballads though haven't they?

I remember LMLY and SLS doing wonders for the albums.

It is a pretty depressing chart run compared to GD and GW. I just don't know what they've done to haemorrhage so much of their casual fanbase this time around?

I think a lot of it is, yes, not everyone can sell the same with every era, but they are also a singles act that managed to sell consistently with continuous singles during their two previous cycles. It's March and 'Think About Us' is just getting going. It's been months. 'Black Magic', 'Love Me Like You', 'Secret Love Song', 'Shout Out to My Ex' etc are album sellers. 'Woman Like Me' isn't.

Exactly! It's another reason I'm shocked they didn't go for Monster In Me.

Not surprised in the slightest that this isn't really going to help the album. I still think if this misses the top 20 they will just move onto another album / re-release.

There’s 20 new releases in album chart to be fair.

And like I said post-album singles usually help albums when the hits have already peaked/established.

So if TAU peaks at #20 they'll release another single, but if it peaks at #21 they might ditch this era completely? Makes perfect sense.

The girls should abandon this era and start afresh. Changing labels right at the top of the era has terminally damaged it. The album doesn't belong to RCA so I can't imagine they would want to invest in promoting it. They should just get back into the studio ASAP and work on new material throughout the summer while preferably scouting for a better label than RCA because they have a terrible track record. To bridge the gap between releases maybe they could do a soundtrack single?

Of all the realistic outcomes I'd rather this happened. I don't want them to abandon this era, not when Monster In Me and Wasabi are right there. This is their best album and I need them to keep pushing for those sales.

Honestly the album performance isn’t bothering me at all. Is it disappointing? Absolutely. But I don’t want them to move on from their best work just because it didn’t sell as much as the last two. Whose to guarantee that a new album would do any better? As long as they keep having singles success and touring success they’ll be fine. They were always almost certainly gonna have a new album out by the end of the year anyway, so what’s the harm in seeing what Wasabi or one of the other album tracks could do before they move on
