Anyone whose voice or sound you generally go for or follow more than most others.

Starting us off, one of mine would be Rick Ross.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Kanye  And of course Kendrick & Eminem but less so as the years go by and his albums declin (for Em).

Too many to mention, but I always liked Wretch 32 more than anyone else I knew... he had such a cool sounding voice and generally solid, thought-provoking and infectious lyrics.

I'm generally more interested in female rappers than male, so Nicki and Iggy would be my favourites by quite some way. Whilst I respect they are legendary, I'm not here at all for Eminem, Kanye, etc.

Plus ofc Mr Worldwide himself *.*

The ones in my last.fm top 50 are:

10 Nicki Minaj

21 Azealia Banks

25 Example (if you count him)

28 will.i.am (same again)

45 Kanye West

46 Drake

48 Iggy Azalea

49 Macklemore

definitely getting into rap more recently in the last couple years - Kendrick and BROCKHAMPTON are favourites of mine at the moment. I've grown to appreciate Eminem and his older hits (latest album material hasn't been particularly good) as well as Stormzy and I still have soft spots for the likes of Pitbull and Sean Paul

I think Kanye and Drake are my favourite two with perhaps Macklemore coming in 3rd? I don't know it's still a genre I'm learning what's to my taste currently!

in my last.fm top 100

11. Drake

34. Nicki Minaj

45. Kanye West

50. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

56. will.i.am

70. PSY

80. Pitbull

85. Iggy Azalea

91. Flo Rida

93. Fuse ODG

I'd put Drake, Nicki and Kanye a long way ahead of the rest here though. Surprisied Eminem isn't there but that's only since 2012 and his best days are long behind him.

I just checked mine and the only one in my top 50 (2006-date) is Flo Rida 😂 👀

Flo Rida would so be in my top 50 if it were 2006-date, he did release some proper bangers back in the day such a shame he suddenly lost it a few years ago.

Some great taste here!!

Yes to Danny Brown, I think he is far more impressive than Kendrick Lamar but the critics are not in agreement! Also love Kanye West, Q-Tip, Missy Elliott, and even though she did just 1 album (but WHAT an album) Lauryn Hill.

Also love Run The Jewels and Young Fathers who have both made some impressive LPs in the past few years.

Sorry to say but I don't really enjoy Eminem at all lately, particularly on his recent album - his style is quite aggressive and abrasive to the point where it feels really forced. He was a lot better in the late 90s and early 2000s however.

Without a shadow of a doubt, Childish Gambino
