I don't think it's necessarily laziness, more so that radio edits would get rid of the fade-out anyway so no sense in having it in the first place.

I think so too. What's the point in adding an extra 15+ (in best cases) seconds to your song when it's just gonna be cut out when it's played on the radio anyway? Streaming could also have a bit of a play in it too. The Weeknd & Daft Punk - I Feel It Coming fades out also. Daft Punk seem to like their fade outs :P

The radio edit of 'I Feel It Coming' Ends and is about a minute shorter than the album version too.

Discovered during the weekend that Cardi B's 'I Like It' fades out.

Juice WRLD - Lucid Dreams also has a fadeout!

and I Like It also has a fade-in to go with its fadeout, can't say that about many songs.

Miley Cyrus's Mother's Daughter fades out.

I’ve been waiting almost a year for this moment.

i actually generally hate songs that fade out, it sounds lazy to me and like they didn't know how to finish it properly. I like songs that have a definite end.
If it’s an instrumental fade out then I don’t mind it but as Lindsey said songs feel unfinished when they’re still singing. Spice Girls - Goodbye and Rihanna - Umbrella are notable example of songs that seem like they could keep going just for that little bit longer
I don't generally mind if songs fade out. Sometimes I don't really like it but there are instances where it actually adds to the emotional impact for me. Alanis Morissette's 'Thank U' is a good example, with her wailing emotionally until the song fades out. Goosebumps.

7 Rings and Thank U Next both fade out.

I hate a fade out 90% of the time bc it just feels lazy and like they didn't know how to end it but it can be good if done right
I noticed the Grace Davies just sent to BJSC fades out too. Quite a rare beast indeed these days.
When I'm presenting on the radio I hate talking over vocals at the start/end of songs so it really irks me when I get songs that fade out. I'm glad they're less common today, also from an artistic perspective it just feels better to give a song a proper ending rather than looping with a fade out
