Slide debuted at #10 officially, think it managed to get to either #9 or #10 on iTunes but no higher, ended up at #11 on sales for the week I'm sure!

I feel like by the time he'd done 'This Is What You Came For' and 'My Way' it was all getting a bit samey, he'd run out of ideas and was not putting it any effort for those.

 

I feel like he needed the last era to do something different and maybe re-gather some of his inspiration again... but yeah, with this he has truly gone off the boil. Bizarre.

Because it's not very commercial. It's not the end of his career, let's not be dramatic :P

I think at this point Calvin will just release one commercial single for every 3-5 non commercial singles, he's a big enough name that he can afford for not everything he does to be a big hit and he wants to experiment a bit now. his career isn't in any danger, he's still getting paid top dollar.
