Posted February 17, 20187 yr Ed Sheeran's newest album ÷ has almost been out for a year now, and it's showing no signs of going anywhere as it currently sits at #2, and has yet to leave the top six let alone the top ten. So get your crystal balls out and predict. For reference, 'X' spent 74 consecutive top 10 weeks, more than Adele's '21' which spent 71. I think it will briefly drop out in Q3 when sales are dead and a load of fanbase acts release in the same week. Alternatively, never seems quite likely at this rate.
February 17, 20187 yr Q4 actually it's still top 10 cos of streams, not sure whats the rule x album streams, probably count forever
February 17, 20187 yr Q4 actually it's still top 10 cos of streams, not sure whats the rule x album streams, probably count forever No it's not, it's #2 on pure album sales too http://www.officialcharts.com/charts/albums-sales-chart/ Also I'm gonna say Q4, when the release schedule gets busier again and the era starts to die down, it must dip out even for one week.
February 17, 20187 yr There is still another single, right? I reckon it'll be in Q4 but of course it could potentially survive into 2019..
February 17, 20187 yr It depends on if he decides to re-release it at some point like he did with X, obviously it’ll stay high without anothe release but he could even go #1 again if he releases a new version of the album lead by a big single.
February 17, 20187 yr The re-release of 'x' actually barely had any effect didn't it? In any case I don't think he will be doing a re-release this time. I think he'll dip out of the top 10 some time in Q3.
February 17, 20187 yr for what I understand there's a confirmed 5th single coming, I assume a new version with an added rapper it would make sense to premiere it this week at the Brits, I guess??? and pretty sure I read there's not gonna be a re-release, he's already talking about album 4
February 17, 20187 yr Possibly late q2/ earlier q3 temporarily but will be top 40 long after and probably climb back in
March 4, 20187 yr Probably not until August. Although it never deserved to even spend one week there anyway.
August 24, 20186 yr Author It has finally happened!!! ÷ drops down to #11 this week following 76 consecutive top 10 weeks (beating his personal record of 74 for 'X') When will ÷ leave the top ten? Q1 2018 [ 0 ]** [0.00%] Q2 2018 [ 9 ] ** [15.25%] Q3 2018 [ 18 ] ** [30.51%] Q4 2018 [ 13 ] ** [22.03%] Sometime in 2019 [ 6 ] ** [10.17%] Even later than that / Never [ 13 ] ** [22.03%] Well done to the 17 of you and myself who predicted Q3.
August 25, 20186 yr Probably not until August. Although it never deserved to even spend one week there anyway. BOOM! :dancing:
