February 20, 20188 yr Yaaaass come through Capital Letters. Who knew Hailee could manage to pull of having two Top 40 hits at the same time?
February 20, 20188 yr Author How odd for Everything Is Recorded to jump 70-21 in this set of mids, it must've had a lot of missing sales yesterday. Looks like 'Capital Letters' will be this week's sole new entry in the singles unless the BRITs shake anything up (or if Calum Scott or Zedd climb in which is also quite likely). Not the most interesting of chart weeks so far.

February 20, 20188 yr Author Zedd's The Middle is #42 so I think that will make it too! ah, just saw that. although personally I'd rather it stayed out  not liking any of this week's potential new top 40 arrivals I must say..
February 20, 20188 yr But they aren’t performing there They should get them on as a surprise performance. A lot of past performances weren’t all scheduled
February 20, 20188 yr Thought the Everything Is Recorded album might have made a little bit more impact with some of the names involved. Not that I thought it would be massive but it's likely to miss the T75 at this rate. Looks like I was right first time then!
February 20, 20188 yr The hip hop monopoly on the charts is getting so boring. Maybe I'm getting old (I'm 24...) but so many songs at the moment sound the exact same and aren't exciting at all. J Hus, Not3s, Ramz, Post Malone, Migos... all these artists are just blurring into one for me. Drake's sound is obviously more well known but God's Plan is boring to me. Is pop dying?

Considering Ed Sheeran's domination of the charts in the past year, plus, more recently, songs like These Days, FRIENDS and Dua Lipa and Camila's tracks doing so well, I'd say it's doing just fine :P

J Hus, Not3s and Ramz I can understand 'blurring into one' but the other two are a completely different subgenre...
February 21, 20188 yr I must admit I am struggling a bit with this afro bashment stuff (J Hus, Not3s etc), just seems to really lack energy and although I don't hate it unlike tropical pop, I find it really dull. It's all a far cry from the likes of Pass Out and Earthquake. But I'm 35, was bound to start feeling really alienated by chart music eventually. Hopefully bangers will come back into fashion and I'll enjoy the next chart trend. Edited February 21, 20188 yr by 34yopoppicker
