I was somewhat interested in seeing this tracklisting even if I don't collect these anymore to see what they came up with, but that's a really disappointing way of doing it. Don't see how they couldn't have just made Now 100 itself a normal one (with maybe an additional history pamphlet or something) with 2 CDs of modern hits and then just do a spin-off CD of Greatest Hits?

One CD of old hits is super restrictive anyway, there's THREE songs from 2008 on there and some years aren't represented at all which already makes it super unbalanced, it doesn't do the series justice.

I hope NOW 101 makes up for the hits which missed NOW 100. It’s like in 1985, 1986, ,1987, 1990 and 1991 when we only had two a year which made us have to wait nearly eight months for our favourite song to appear on the next volume ie. two of the songs from NOW 20 which were released before NOW 19 (“Sailing On The Seven Seas” and “Joyride”)
In terms of getting the actual hits, Disc 1 is probably the strongest disc they've done in recent times. However, it's really frustrating that it's only one disc of current hits. They EASILY could've done a normal version of the NOW album and added a bonus disc 3 "greatest hits" version. I don't understand the logic whatsoever and it' s annoying coz I feel the NOW compilation have good reasons to celebrate their 100th edition, but why change the format? :(
It’s pretty poo that the 100th volume is basically the worst one yet. It didn’t have to be at all.

Regarding why NOW Ibiza is 3 discs, a bunch of older hits is probably cheaper than a bunch of fresh hits.

Disc 1 of NOW 100 is fantastic now that the rage has left my system. And Disc 2 is okay for a car journey or something like that

I still think that it would have made sense to include “Three Lions” on disc 2 with how well England are doing

but by the time Now 100 actually gets released the World Cup would have been over for the best part of a week and the song will have been rapidly falling in the chart.

unless perhaps if we win the final but the NOW compilers like everyone else aren't banking on that.

Am I the only person to notice that Wonderwall and Wannabe are the wrong way around?
In terms of release date that's true, but Wonderwall appeared on Now 34 with Wannabe (which was higher up the tracklisting) so I'm guessing they're going by Now chronology rather than release date chornology.

But they put “Viva La Vida” before “I Kissed A Girl” when the latter was higher up on NOW 71 than the former

In that case it’s just Now being as hopeless as ever

That said, I like the Now Ibiza tracklist and will probably pick it up. Many of these are rarely seen on the spin-offs and it kicks off with two of my top 10 favourite songs ever <3 Hopefully the UK radio edit of 9PM is on there and not the bland original that keeps appearing on other compilations.

I like the NOW 43 version of “9pm”. I just hope they don’t cut out the build up in “Encore Une Fois” like MOS do. Also for “Solo” on NOW 100, they keep the “fooo” despite R1 and music channels saying “oooo”

That NOW Ibiza album looks fantastic. An instant purchase for me.
Not Now Ibiza looking much better and more professional than Now 100 :drama:

Yep, that’s the UK radio edit that was the hit. Compilations keep using the slower original mix.
