Why is there so much Destiny's Child hate??? They have a phenomenal singles discography!!!

Thank you Joseph!! I love them.

'Say My Name', 'Lose My Breath', 'Bug A Boo', 'Independent Women', 'Emotion', 'Girl' and 'Survivor' are all bops

And I like all the rest tbh! I don't think there are many songs by them I'm not keen on. I will try and continue this tomorrow btw!

Lose My Breath is absolutely dreadful :puke2:

Let's be best friends...I always got judged for my disliking toward LMB

The Saturdays were basic, but why does it matter if they were global or not?

Girls Aloud weren't big worldwide, but that never stopped their music from being brilliant and unique. On the other hand, Destiny's Child were big worldwide but their music was awful.

This is a poll for the ultimate girl group single. The top songs should be hits in more than one country. DC'S music is a million times better than GA, whom are very overrated on this forum.

GA did have minor success in other countries compared to the Sats.

I think you've misunderstood this rate

If we were looking for the biggest girl group hit, I think most people here (including myself) would've rated differently. We're looking for Buzzjack members collective favourite girl group single. Not the biggest girl group hit.

Just coz a song wasn't a hit doesn't make it any less good.

I can't at this Destiny's Child Hate that is happening, they have a great discography :drama:

I don't hate DC at all, I just feel LMB is just a lot of noise and repetitive.

The results are meant to reflect our collective tastes in the songs, vibe. Like Jonjo says, how these songs performed commercially worldwide has nothing to do with what this topic is about: BuzzJack’s Ultimate Girl Group Single! Doesn’t matter if it was a transatlantic #1 smash or a minor UK Top 20 hit. If we all collectively prefer the latter, that’s what this thread should reflect.

Did you mark down GA/The Sats songs partly because you’re looking down on them as being UK-centric acts?

Yes, if it was the ultimate ‘hit’ only top 5 singles would have been included and surely there would be no reason to branch out into the top 20! How silly!

I don't hate Destiny's Child at all, they still have a brilliant singles discography.

There are some songs I'm not keen on.

To me: 'Lose My Breath, 'Independent Women Part 1, 'Say My Name', 'Survivor, 'Bug A Boo', 'Jumpin Jumpin' are all anthems for me. In regards to Little Mix, yes I wasn't a fan of 'Black Magic' and 'Shout Out To My Ex' but the rest of their singles discography is quite good.

I have understood perfectly well thank you .

I have been a member for years , I know how this website has certain tastes. Just hard to understand sometimes when people begrudge DC but then orgasm over Saturdays and GA .

Just different tastes. Saturdays and GA are going to appeal to a completely different audience than DC, no? So I don't understand what you don't understand tbh

Just because a song is successful, doesn't mean everyone will like it?

Different taste for sure .

One good , one horrid lol .

As I have said I have the GH for both GA and SATS .

"Biology" missing the top 40 is criminal! A true girl group classic that The Saturdays and Little Mix wish they had released x

"Spice Up Your Life" to slay please

Kicking off the Top 40 is Destiny's Child with their #01 hit 'Survivor' and one of their best known songs to this day. It was released as the second single off of their third studio album 'Survivor' and was their second #01 in the UK following 'Independent Women' - a wise move for the girls releasing another female empowerment anthem. The video is absolutely iconic too, and up there with the best imo. I love the song for a bit of nostalgia but not something I come back to regularly and feels like it goes on for a minute more than it should.

At #39 is TLC with 'Unpretty', the second single to be taken off of their third studio album ''FanMail'' and followed their biggest hit ''No Scrubs''. It was another #01 in the US for the girls and a sizeable Top 10 hit for them in the UK also. An absolutely beautiful song about loving ourselves, and one of the first songs I remember having that sort of message, and done in a way that didn't seem tacky at all. I'm surprised to do this well here beating off the likes of 'Biology' and 'Black Magic' but I'm pleased, it really deserves more.

At #38 is ''What About Us'' by The Saturdays, featuring Sean Paul, their only #01 single! It was released as the lead single from 'Living For The Weekend' and surpassed expectations as it stormed to #01 upon it's release, probably helped by the feature of Sean Paul as well as being a very on trend and quality song from them. As soon as they hit #01 their career started to be over, only scoring one further Top 5 hit since the release with 'Disco Love' and subsequent singles/album flopping hard. Still, a great song and I'm still so happy it got to #01 for them, one of my faves from them easily. Fun fact: in the 'Behind The Lyrics' section when listening on Spotify, Una reveals that she doesn't have a clue what 'What About Us' is actually about :')

At #37 is Sugababes with their stunning ballad 'Too Lost In You'. It was the second single to be taken off of their third studio album 'Three', following their #01 hit 'Hole In The Head', this was another Top 10 hit for the girls. It was also featured heavily in the Bridget Jones film. All signs pointed it to being a huge hit, however it was released on a fiercely competitive Christmas week so they had to settle for scraping into the Top 10. I think it's a beautiful song, a true girlgroup ballad classic.
I've always disliked 'Survivor'. I find it so boring :( 'Unpretty' is stunning. 'What About Us' is a bop. Not one I go back to, but a bop and 'Too Lost In You' has always been Sugas most overrated song. Whiny and bland.
