This week's battle for #1 is wide open now Drake is on ACR, leaving Rudimental and George Ezra as our main candidates. Leading the way with this week's new entries, Shawn Mendes is hoping for a top 10 debut with In My Blood this week, and promo single Lost in Japan could be entering too. The only other notable new release is Flames by David Guetta & Sia, their fourth collaboration.

 

On the album chart, the Greatest Showman's reign should finally reach an end as George Ezra's new album Staying At Tamara's is set to be his second #1 album. Other new albums include Rick Parfitt, Jack White and Lissie.

 

Breakdown of the week

- Saturday and Sunday: Information on Twitter from MintRoyale only. Please do not make requests, we do not have any information other than what's posted.

- Monday: OCC Top 100 + Radio 1 Chart Update 5:30pm to 5:45pm.

- Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one.

- Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed.

- Thursday: See Tuesday.

- You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod).

So surprised but happy at George's second era success right now. With the amount of time between albums and then Don't Matter Now not taking off, I was convinced he was going to do a Duffy second time around, so I'm over the moon he's doing so well. Hopefully he can actually win himself some BRITS next year after losing 4 categories because he had his big year in the same year as Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran's dominance.
George looking at 60k+ probably, around what I'd have expected~ doubt he'll keep off Greatest Showman in the 2nd week but still he's done very well to turn this era around!

This reminds me of Jesse McCartney "Beautiful Soul" in the Australian chart; it was number 1 for a while and then fell 1-15 after being 'deleted' from the shops. In fact I think it was fairly commonplace in the 2000s in the Australian charts...

Ouch at Jack White, previous album opened with 25,284 in 2014, and he's not even on 5k here in the midweek.

Thank god Drake is finally knocked off number 1.

 

I want Rudimental/Jess Glynn and George Ezra to be the new number 1 so hopefully Rudimental this week and George next week.

 

George Ezra is doing great in the albums and has overcome any second album curse that others have experienced. The Callum Scott song has grown on me so its nice to see it top 40 and hopefully it can stay there.

 

 

Big numbers for George.....

 

hope it all slows down before Kylie's Golden is released on 6th! :)
