Posted April 1, 20187 yr Greg James will be standing down from Radio 1's Top 40 show in order to focus on Sounds Like Friday Night. MistaJam will host the top 40 on a permanent basis beginning in August. Greg will continue to host Monday to Thursday drive.

April 1, 20187 yr I’d actually really like that :lol: I find MistaJam more entertaining as a host I think, Greg is good at what he does but I don’t miss him when he’s not there :P

April 1, 20187 yr I fell for that as well. Very good one that was lol. I think I believed it because I want that to be a reality. Greg is a OK but Mistajam does seem to be better suited and sounds closer to one of the older chart show hosts for me. he sounds way more enthusiastic about the chart as well so I wouldn't mind if this was actually a thing somewhen.

April 1, 20187 yr The poor bloke isn't going to do a 6 day week permanently with Mon-Thur on 1Xtra and Sat Dance Anthems already! He'd have to give up 1 or the other. I know he does it occasionally e.g. this week or will get cover for his 1Xtra show. I agree though, he is suited to the show. Tbh I had been looking forward to Jordan North giving it a go but it didnt happen as his cover for Greg was just Mon-Thur.

April 1, 20187 yr Now that they’ve dumped the chart show into a prime drive time slot, one cannot simply quit the chart show unless they were going to chuck in a prime daily time slot. I’d be amazed if anyone fell for this.
April 1, 20187 yr This will probably happen. I am a massive Greg fan but I love MistaJam doing the chart show, such an intelligent and knowledgeable presenter!
April 1, 20187 yr If SLFN does get an extended run Mistajam must now be the favourite to replace Greg James on the chart show. Given that he said on Friday that his wife was due to give birth in the next few weeks, what are the chances of him getting called away in the middle of the programme? :lol:
