We were a bit salty about some of the songs that made it over us, but at least we have a solid pool of highlights from the final line-up to share tonight. Without further ado, here is how we voted as a nation: 18 Cor Lupus :: Nocturnal Tapes - Is It Too Late 15 Deandria :: Linea Aspera - Malarone 13 FSR Rontvia :: Freya Ridings - Lost Without You (Live At St Pancras Old Church) It was a seriously tough battle for our 18 this month but Cor Lupus have pipped all rivals to the post! The nation joined the BuzzJack Song Contest during the 74th contest, the same one as us, so it feels great to reward them with the ultimate honour of a gold for their 30th entry, after experiencing this journey together thus far (along with Flynnonda, a shame we couldn't point them also on this occasion, but at least they made it to the final nevertheless). Cor Lupus join the very small club of nations to have received two sets of 18 from us to date, after 'LAX (Mr. Kitty Remix)' by Aesthetic Perfection was our favourite song from BJSC 99. We're impressed by how obscure this song appears to be from the YouTube view count. It clearly deserves way more attention as it houses a carefree chorus that packs a serious punch and also boasts a really cool accompanying video. Don't get us started on the video. That black cat! :heart: Best of luck to Cor Lupus tonight! Deandria were so close to becoming only the second nation that have received 3 gold medals from us to date (unsurprisingly, it's just Persephonia who have that accolade so far) but they had to settle for a silver in the end. Which is nothing to be sniffed at of course! This song was actually a massive grower for us, it would have 'only' received 7 points if we had voted in semi 2 :o but of course a darkwave song was going to be one of our ultimate favourites in the end. We love this sophisticated and spooky offering from Deandria. That chorus is utter brilliance! We hope that this can turn out to be a bit of a dark horse tonight, it's been too long since Deandria were last in the top 10! FSR Rontvia then complete our medal positions with a song that we are tipping for the win this time. We cannot get enough of the absolutely stunning vocals that are very reminiscent to that of a London Grammar song. The live element really works for this entry as the vocals sound emotional and raw. They're strong enough to make you think it was a studio version though, if only the clapping and talking at the end weren't a giveaway! Congrats to Deandria who have finally got our top points for the first time ever (and quite easily in this final), after previously coming 2nd for us with Télépopmusik back in BJSC 50 and more recently with world's end girlfriend in BJSC 96. Hopefully a bit of a dark horse hit in their hands this time around with their awesome darkwave entry. Dobago's beautiful instrumental takes our 15, marking the second time they have finished in our medal positions (after an 18 to Albin Myers in BJSC 86), while our tip for the win this month FSR Rontvia pick up 13 points with their gorgeous live London Grammar soundalike.
