I actually feel like 'Levels' is possibly the most fitting song as an Avicii tribute. Of course it doesn't have the appropriate lyrics in the same way as 'Wake Me Up' or 'The Nights', but the fact it's mostly an instrumental means the focus is on him and what a talent he was as an artist in his own right and not just a producer. Such an influential song, arguably the song most responsible for the entire genre breaking through in a big way outside of Europe. Hope to see that in the top 40 this week.

(Also it's his best song bar 'Seek Bromance' for me but that's besides the point x)

Avicii RIP

The

one last time audition is tonight on BGT. It seems to be a dance medley opening and closing with it and is going to be an emotional moment with what I've read about it

(this is a BGT spoiler!)

Can see both that and a certain other song getting big boosts tonight

Yeah that's what I'm thinking/hoping as well

How do I remove the spoiler tags? I don't know how

'Lay Me Down' (Avicii) is so painfully underrated. It's so sublime and really different for him, eternally deserving of more appreciation.

Absolutely agree, it's easily one of his best for me. It's also a shame that 'Taste The Feeling' isn't in the Top 1500.

All but 6 of the iTunes Top 20 in Sweden are Avicii along with plenty more through the Top 100

Agreed, I didn't think it was even a single but it appears it was and peaked at #200? :/

Broken Arrows is similarly underrated. I wasn't too keen on Lay Me Down in comparison to other songs but Broken Arrows was brilliant and I thought it would be another big hit but it didn't get much airplay probably because of the last single having flopped (For a Better Day) and also because Grimmy didn't like it.

The Days was robbed too, that one didn't even get a download release in the end because it was getting no hype or airplay. :drama: but it spent a few weeks top 100 from streams alone which was good going.

Am I right in thinking the reason Radio 1 and the like didn't playlist it is because they either never intended to make it a single or outright cancelled it?

At that point, there was no way an Avicii single following on from True wasn't getting playlisted.

I think The Days was planned an official release etc. but all that was cancelled when it was leaked a month or so early. The Nights was given promotion instead and that ended up being a big hit, although The Days still did great in his home country and here in Australia (and I think some smaller success in a handful of other places)
