May 13, 20187 yr Is it Circles by any chance? :P Not quite! :o I did consider it but then a random song came into my head that surely everyone has forgotten about. *will probably be the most popular answer now*
May 13, 20187 yr After an incorrect answer early on I'm quite happy just to have got everything else (so far) right
May 13, 20187 yr YESSS finally a pointless answer *.* :cheer: (great taste there with 'Circles' though SamJudd!)
May 13, 20187 yr So many great tracks in that list  Someone should make a Spotify playlist with all these
May 13, 20187 yr Author 30w8DyEJ__0 11. Name a #1 album by Arctic Monkeys which spent more than 20 weeks in the top-75. Another "current" question, with Arctic Monkeys releasing a long anticipated (and a lot disappointing for many) album this week! I don't know what to make of this shift of direction, but I quite enjoyed the new one! 6 | 21% | WHATEVER PEOPLE SAY I AM THAT'S WHAT I'M | Chez Wombat, FleetSeb, Mack., Suedehead2, Dobbo, Riser 10 | 34% | FAVOURITE WORST NIGHTMARE | Zarate, Bjork, vibe, 777666jason, HarryEzra, ┴פsᴉʍǝ˥, Jade, DanG, WhoOdyssey, PeteFromLeeds 3 | 10% | SUCK IT AND SEE | Dannyboy, Dexton, SamJudd 8 | 28% | AM | paulgilb, SM351, gavindeejay, TS0301, Theo., UltraReputation, Bre, Yorkie3 29 | 7% | Humbug | awardinary, Sarah The ones of you who answered 'Suck it and See' were the luckiest, which is really surprising to me, as it's the least memorable album to me out of the 4 eligible ones. Seems like many of us thought that and decided to opt with the more popular ones... and failed! Two of you fell for my small trick with 'Humbug', as it's indeed a #1 and spent 24 weeks in the top-100. However, it has only spent 16 weeks in the top-75 and thus is not qualified. May 13, 20187 yr My logic there was people couldn't be bothered to type out their debut  having said that I just did a straight copy & paste. I was very tempted to go for Favourite Worst Nightmare actually but didn't want to risk any others mainly because I had no clue if they spent that required timespan!
May 13, 20187 yr Bottom 5 here we come at this rate...! At least everyone has leaderboard points guaranteed this time.
May 13, 20187 yr Drum'n'Bass is so good  What a wonderful selection of songs (so close to pointless again though gah)
May 13, 20187 yr My logic there was people couldn't be bothered to type out their debut  having said that I just did a straight copy & paste. I was very tempted to go for Favourite Worst Nightmare actually but didn't want to risk any others mainly because I had no clue if they spent that required timespan! That was my logic too
May 13, 20187 yr Yay for Ke$ha giving me a Pointless, I figured there'd be quite a few people who don't enter BJSC who wouldn't realise 'Dolla' is the same as 'TiK ToK' :P (actually surprised there were so few incorrect answers for that as it's not immediately obvious where to find the list of winners). Also 'Good Feeling' was genuinely the first one to come to mind for that 'falling 1 place 4 weeks in a row' question because of it coming up recently in a Now! session on plug.dj, I did think of Eminem as well after that but thought Flo Rida would be a little less memorable anyway.
May 13, 20187 yr Author Now onto the last one... 52iW3lcpK5M 12. Name an artist whose songs occupied a #1 and a #2 in the singles chart of the same date. Also name these songs. Only a few songs achieved that feat! Streaming era has made it far easier, half of the list comes from the latest years. Surely it's more and more to come soon. I also made it easier for you and asked you to name the songs and not artist in general (which created 4 options for Ed Sheeran), which broadened the choice. 0 | 3% | The Beatles "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "She Loves You" | SamJudd 2 | 7% | The Beatles "Hello Goodbye" and "Magical Mystery Tour" | FleetSeb, Jade 0 | 3% | John Travolta — "Summer Nights" (with Olivia Newton-John) and "Sandy" | gavindeejay 3 | 10% | John Lennon — "Imagine" and"Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" | Chez Wombat, HarryEzra, Dobbo 0 | 3% | John Lennon — "Imagine" and "Woman" | Yorkie3 3 | 10% | Frankie Goes To Hollywood "Relax" and "Two Tribes" | awardinary, Bjork, Suedehead2 4 | 14% | Madonna — "Into the Groove" and "Holiday" | Dannyboy, vibe, 777666jason, Theo. 4 | 14% | Justin Bieber "Sorry" and "Love Yourself" | SM351, TS0301, Mack., DanG 0 | 3% | Justin Bieber "Cold Water" and "Let Me Love You" | UltraReputation 0 | 0% | Justin Bieber "Despacito" and "I'm the One" | 0 | 3% | Ed Sheeran "Shape of You" and "Castle in the Hill" | Bre 4 | 14% | Ed Sheeran "Shape of You" and "How Would You Feel (Paean) | Zarate, ┴פsᴉʍǝ˥, Riser, PeteFromLeeds 0 | 3% | Ed Sheeran "Shape of You" and "Galway Girl" | Dexton 0 | 3% | Ed Sheeran "Perfect" and "River" | WhoOdyssey 29 | 3% | Frankie Laine - Hey Joe & Answer Me | paulgilb 29 | 3% | Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud & Bloodstream | Sarah So the joint top answers are Madonna with the dance classic 'Into the Groove' and 'Holiday', Justin Bieber with 'Sorry' and 'Love Yourself' and Ed Sheeran with 'Shape of You' and 'How Would You Feel'! I was doing SO WELL until the late answers came and made 'Paean' go to top! I actually hoped it was long forgotten that no one would even remember it, I underestimated you. 7 of you gained pointless answers, including the other Ed Sheeran songs duets. Again, the double trick worked, this time for Bre, Dexton and WhoOdyssay! UltraReputation remembered the two Justin Bieber features, Yorkie3 was the only one who went with the second feat by John Lennon, gavindeejay was the only one who went with JohnTravolta, and SamJudd took a pointless with one of the Beatles' duets! Congratulations to all of you. :D Frankie Laine was ALMOST THERE, occupying #1 and #3 and #2 and #3, however it didn't make the double #1 and #2 on the same week. The fifth suggestion of Ed Sheeran of 'Bloodstream' and 'Thinking Out Loud' doesn't qualify either, as they also occupied those positions on different dates. ... and no one went with another Justin Bieber feature secuence of 'Despacito' and 'Cold Water'! Edited May 14, 20187 yr by Zárate
May 13, 20187 yr I totally forgot about Ed Sheeran and Bieber and just flocked straight to the archives for my favourite band. I really thought I'd be on to a Pointless there as 'Magical Mystery Tour (EP)' is quite a random #2, so aw at FleetSeb picking it too and the more obvious Beatles option being pointless!
May 13, 20187 yr ... and no one went with another Justin Bieber feature secuence of 'Despacito' and 'Cold Water'! Aagh I'm really annoyed I didn't think of that one! Actually that wouldn't be right would it? They were 2 different years, I was thinking of Cold Water & Let Me Love You but I see that one was in fact answered. I think this actually went reasonably well for me considering it's Pointless! Possibly even an outside shot at another top 10?
May 13, 20187 yr 12 correct answers! And a few pointless ones too - I'm very pleased that no one else said "Poker Face" for the sequential chart run. Thank you for hosting, Zarate, a good varied set of questions :D
May 13, 20187 yr Author Now please, give me time to calculate our scores! :D Also, all ties will be split. Sorry, no luxury of joint triple winner this time! (the times will be split by the number of pointless answers, then the number of answers by 2, then by 3 etc.)
