At least we have accepted things are not working/not going to work out how we'd like it to. As the months go by the belief will grow more and more for Liverpool which will ultimately make the disappointment feel worse. Manchester City are the lesser of two evils for me so I would prefer them over Liverpool.

Don't get this argument, only 1 team can win the League or Champions League every year. Part of the fun of football for me is dreaming and getting a little excited. Sure at it hurts when we get beat in finals, but at least we had a good ride to get there with some classic games! Better than watching a double decker bus!

As I said once before this is just our turn to be the mockery of football. Swings & roundabouts n' all.

Ed Woodward will continue to be the club's biggest problem. 3 managers now, same outcome - can't keep blaming them all the time. Half of the squad aren't good enough for a top 6 team let alone title contenders. Obviously Jose never helped with matters, his demeanor was always nothing but negativity however as soon as a new boss comes in a handful of players now have nothing to hide behind & will rightly be ripped apart from all corners.

I think Ed Woodward is a massive problem, but also for me it is just your whole strategy. You've attracted a team of mercenaries and I can't think of one big marquee signing you have made post Ferguson that has actually worked!? Lukaku was very good for a while, but that's genuinely it. What it means is like you say you have a squad full of average players picking up £100,000 a week. They are not going to get that wage anywhere else so you can't sell them. Either you pay them off (e.g. Rooney) or let them run their contracts down.

Glazers and Woodward are our two remaining problems as a club. Hopefully a director of football can help mitigate that by removing the Glazers and Woodward from the footballing decisions and allowing Ed to go back to commercialising every single blade of grass so the Glazers can siphon even more money out our club

A lot of United fans have come to the realisation that we're unlikely to finish in the top 4 now so if/when we finish 6th at the end of the season it will not come as a huge bombshell because we would have seen this coming for months. For Liverpool fans missing out on the title could potentially hit you very hard if you take the title race all the way to May.

Steven Gerrard said "we do not let this slip" when Liverpool had the title in their hands and a few weeks later he literally let it slip and it's something rival fans have been laughing at for years ever since. You could possibly even lose the title on goal difference which as we United fans know is hard to take. Breaking the record for most points in a season without winning the league is also a big possibility.

Disappointing if we're in the race and if we don't win, but I would also say we are likely to challenge for the next 2-3 years so I can live with that. Certainly Manchester City have a much bigger gaping hole shortly than we do (Fernandinho). Must also be hard for Manchester United fans to know they are pretty much turning in to everything they took the piss out of for 20 years!

Yep it's absolutely fine people laugh about the slip or Loris Karius in the final, I'm cool with that. I've long got over it as have most other Liverpool fans and the fact that Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea still sing about it just makes Liverpool fans laugh too - everyone is obsessed with us! Not inconceivable about goal difference too, but it's with +8 now I think and I'm pretty sure within the past 60 years it's been decided by goal difference 3 times. I can't see it happening this year.

Manchester United appear to have confirmed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as interim manager and then it was deleted with also the Norwegian PM wishing him the bes

Pochettino to take the job next season?

Probably the best manager for the job, but suspect he’s going to either use Man Utd to get Spurs to spend money or is Madrid bound..

Think Solskjaer is a strange interim appointment to me, even taking sentiments out of it.

Does seem strange given his record and what happened at Cardiff.

Not sure if Pochettino would take the job next season maybe Madrid bound.

What’s fantastic is Man Utd can’t even get the announcement right  Hastily deleted! This announcement, Pogba’s tweet, Neville’s reply - absolute panto!

Here’s hoping Ole doesn’t do as bad a job as he did at Cardiff (cos by God they were shite under him).

Hope the mancs don't get Potch he's an awesome manager!

Think Eddie Howe would be a decent fit the way Bournemouth play football. Maybe would t be allowed to settle thoigh with the demands these days!

Pochettino would be good, but would take a couple of seasons to be challenging again and numerous players would need to be shifted cos they don't fit his style. But like I said, I feel he will probably stay with Spurs or go to Real Madrid in the summer.

I find the whole intermin manager strange. Effectively kills the season off while they look for a new manager (who clearly they have no idea who they want to appoint). I actually still can't believe they are going to appoint Solskjaer. Surely go for someone experienced like of the Hiddink ilk, at least you know they will steady the ship. Has an interim manager ever been sacked before??

Not sure but an interim manager has won the champions league before!!

It is a leftfield appointment but in one sense it's no risk at all & is the safe option. It won't matter a jot what happens under Ole, he's a club legend so even if we got relegated this season it wouldn't affect his status. But to be honest, we could put Mr. Bean in charge & I doubt it'll make any difference, the players have decided they're not going to try this season.

As for long-term I have my reservations about Poch (and also seriously doubt we'll pinch him from Spurs anyway). This is fast becoming the impossible job i.e. very much a poisoned chalice!

"I have nothing to say. You know me. "

What Mourinho said regarding about being sacked by.Man United.

I think he said when he joined Chelsea in 2004 that he wanted to destroy Man United, fourteen years later he has certainly done a good job of that.

Pretty sure he would be remembered for the wrong reasons if united got relegated lol
