I think it's just that she's not as popular as other urban acts like Travis Scott and J Cole, those didn't get special Spotify promo either and look how well they did

I think it is in part due to her being female in a MASSIVELY male dominated genre. Nicki does also play a bit more with pop music (though I would say this is her least pop album to date), which doesn’t appeal to that demographic.

Just gonna mention Cardi B here

was thinking the same but didn't wanna go into the gender debate

cardi b did similarly on release week, she did well on spotify but far from slaying ala j cole

Even then her album didn’t have the take over that the other rappers have shown despite the chart success in comparison.

In the long run it will do better thanks to the singles, the most successful of which in the UK is not exactly urban.

Let's be real - it's because Cardi & Nicki are female that they're not doing a usual takeover like Travis & J Cole did with so much ease. A shame, but not a surprising one.

A shame as both are decent albums. Ngl, I don’t like to generalise but from what I’ve heard from my straight male friends female rap isn’t taken seriously but most :(

Yeah it's not equal at all which makes the success of Cardi, Beyonce, Rihanna and Nicki to some extent very impressive. They are all streaming forces in a tough world of urban music which is totally tailored for straight men.

the most bizarre thing on HH at the moment is Jason Derulo - Colours still at #20-ish, been there for months, since like June, and never done a thing

if thats not payola...

it's taking the place of a song that could be a real hit

Despite its title I think it's quite obvious Hot Hits UK isn't bound by the chart or how well something is doing, we have the top 50 playlist for that. If the label want to pay for Colors to be on the playlist and rack up a few more streams, so be it.

Good to see Sigala/ The Vamps re-entering.

Also Chainsmokers top 100 is good to see; hope this can become a hit for them

 4. Benny Blanco, Halsey & Khalid - Eastside

 38. Dynoro & Gigi D'Agostino - In My Mind

 56. Steel Banglez ft. MØ & Yxng Bane - Your Lovin'

 59. David Guetta ft. Anne-Marie - Don't Leave Me Alone

 63. Dean Lewis - Be Alright

 91. The 1975 - Love It If We Made It

 116. Freya Ridings - Lost Without You

wasnt expecting Eastside to reach #4 this quick, and its not that far from #3
