Haha, looks like I'm proper shading you now :kink:

To keep this on topic, I do miss ITV coverage but I fortunately have BT Sports & they're doing a great job so far.

I like the fact that you can just watch the highlights free on YouTube as well.

I deleted the group stage post. Did BBC Three show an Arsenal Champions League qualifier once?
  • 1 month later...
Paris St-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel says it will be "super difficult" for Neymar to be fit for their Champions League tie against Manchester United next month.
I'll be surprised if Man United can get through against PSG in their last 16 tie. I just think we'll just get edged out although I'm a lot more confident about our chances with Ole on board. But could be a tough ask.
Now a nigh impossible job for Man United and with Pogba sent off and injuries for Martial and Lingard.
For the first time in their history, Man Utd have lost a European tie at Old Trafford by more than one goal.

Until the double injury we were putting in a respectable performance and it was a 50/50 game. Injuries sucked the life out of us and then after they scored that was it, game over. Ole has done a lot of good but in 10 weeks he can’t bring us into a position to take out a team that’s financed by a billion barrels of crude with no regard for FFPP regs.

I fail to believe that a professional ref could perform quite so poorly without being paid off, he had a f***in shocker.

Don't get me wrong, Ole has done a good job in the time he has been there. Qatar Oil FC sorry PSG would have the edge with their silly.money signings which make you vomit. The ref he was clueless tonight.
Tonight didn’t change my view that Ole is the right appointment for us. Put in a DoF because Woodward is clueless and we will finally start our rebuild on the right path. It’s taken 5 years but Ole gets the club and what we stand for. He bleeds United and if anyone will get us back on our perch then that is essential

You can always tell when Man United have lost a match by the increase in activity here compared to normal ;)

PSG were the better team and deserved to win but like others have said the referee was really poor tonight, Kimpembe should have been sent off before he even had the chance to score their opener and it looked like the ref was reluctant to book PSG's players but didn't hesitate to book ours! It's gonna be very hard to progress to the next round but I have some comfort that PSG will ultimately bottle it in Europe again like they always do.

This result doesn't undo the good work Ole has done so far and for me he would still be the right man to be in charge next season.

Let’s be honest, PSG were always likely to score - they’re a fantastic side and along with the other state backed club the rightly favourites for winning the competition. If Man Utd win by more than 3 clear goals at PSG then fair, that is amazing. But it’s not going to happen. PSG are the best team I’ve seen this year, they completely outclassed us in the game in France. They only got beaten last year by a once in a generation performance backed by one of the greatest players ever. Focus on beating Chelsea and then losing to Liverpool please :D

As Ole said it was definitely a reality check. There were a few questionable decisions from the ref but that doesn't disguise the fact they absolutely dominated us & as per the norm Dave prevented it from being 4 or 5. We only had 1 shot on target the entire game or something? Didn't deserve a jot. Anything can happen in the reverse leg though & we have to look back at earlier in the season when we beat Juve against all the odds & pull out a miracle but missing Pog is an undeniably big blow plus they'll have their own big hitters back by the next leg (sans Neymar I've read).

As for Spurs that was a seriously impressive result. Or does it just mean the Bundesliga is really really bad at the moment? Hard to tell

Not sure what to think of 0-0 with the way Liverpools attack has been since Xmas - would take a draw on Sunday already!

BIG opportunity missed there for you guys. That said, still very much a possibility of scoring in Munich then they'd need 2 but I was surprised at just how much they controlled the game, particularly as they've had an underwhelming season thus far by their lofty standards.

Bring on Sunday :cheer:

Bayern are very beatable right now as well. Gladbach sank three past them in Munich earlier this season.

Gonna be a tough ask to beat them away but it is achievable

Could see it being a draw in Munich.

Liverpool are so low on confidence right now, it’s weird to see. I can see United winning on Sunday, which would make it one win out of five for Liverpool?

The 2nd leg in Munich could go either way, if Liverpool score then it would put them in a good position to qualify but their away record in the Champions League is shocking so if that continues then it could be a very tough night for them against Bayern. Hopefully this bad run of form will continue for Liverpool!
You’d always want to win your home game, but a draw isn’t the worst thing. Bayern came for a draw by all accounts and got what they wanted. Our midfield is so much more dominant with Fabinho at the base, so hopefully we have enough fit centre backs for the weekend. Either way we’re still in the tie, but suspect lots of eyes were on the weekend’s game. Man Utd will probably be the favourites which might help us..
