July 30, 20186 yr I’m intrigued to see if Radio 1 will her support her or not. They’ve always been good to her previously but I wonder how long they can keep that up for when the hits haven’t been there.
July 30, 20186 yr To be honest, I think Radio 2 are more likely to support her than Radio 1. https://twitter.com/robynkonichiwa/status/1...916928568578048 Havin said that, the song is premiering on Annie Mac's show as the Hottest Record, so perhaps! (though it's not a 100% guarrantee, Annie Mac had Liam Gallagher last year, but R1 never playlisted him).

I think it mostly depends on whether her being 'cool' is able to outweigh her age, unfortunately.
August 1, 20186 yr I don’t think Radio 1 will go anywhere near her unfortunately Although if she did get playlisted, I imagine it will be C-C-C-OUT
August 1, 20186 yr It’s very Dancing On Own which is no bad thing, but is it what we’re expecting from Robyn as a comeback? I think the likes of Annie Mac will play it, not too sure about daytime. Edited August 1, 20186 yr by gavindeejay
August 1, 20186 yr I remember Radio 1 didn't playlist 'Indestructible' after 'Hang With Me' (undeservedly) flopped, but then playlisted 'Call Your Girlfriend' which surprised me. I know she's very well favoured in the 'cool'/indie circles but it has been over 7 years since that last single now. Intrigued to see what happens!
August 1, 20186 yr Call Your Girlfriend was play listed very late, I think in 2012? I don't think they play listed her collaboration with Royksopp, but I believe it was played in the evening specialist shows.

August 1, 20186 yr Robyn's last hit “Do It Again” (it squeaked in at #75) was ignored by Radio 1 - so I'm very doubtful of support sadly, but no doubt Annie Mac will support it.
August 1, 20186 yr Radio 2 have Cheat Codes, Rudimental, Miles Kane, Sam Smith on their playlists, along with veterans and country acts - I'd say Robyn would be Radio 2 and nowhere else these days, sadly, unless she's guesting on other more recent acts...
August 1, 20186 yr Annie Mac is making a big thing of the new Robyn track as the hottest record tonight. She kicked the show off by playing Dancing On My Own and With Every Heartbeat back to back
August 1, 20186 yr It's on Spotify now. Album is also being mastered and released this year. Yess now it shows on my SPotify too. I've been refreshing it all evening :D
