'SOS' sticks more to the original, just with a little more sparkle, but her version of 'Gimme' is Cher to a tee.

I love Cher but the release just doesn’t appeal to me. Doing an album of covers is fine but why not be a bit more creative and choose less well known tracks and reinvent the style of the track instead of just copying the original.

Underwhelming bundles but at least she is getting multiple album and single sales out of each one I guess - acts like Cher should go all out with their physicals though.

It’s an extra special day on The Ellen Show, because the incomparable CHER is here! The Goddess of Pop has had an illustrious career, and she’s inspired many singers, dancers, and performers along the way. Cher has truly done it all, from her early singing days to huge hits like “Believe,” to major achievements in film and on stage! Not only is she a talented performer, she has used her voice to become an important figure in social activism and speaking out against injustice. Cher stops by the show today to catch up with Ellen and to talk about her latest film, “Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!” She'll perform the classic ABBA song, “SOS” from her upcoming ABBA tribute album, “Dancing Queen”! It’ll be nothing short of an extra glamorous day on The Ellen Show!

Why would she say her own albums are bad?!? Who does that!?

I don’t rate believe as her best at all, I wonder if she would if it had flopped? Heart of stone is my favourite Cher album it is incredible!

She's always been open that she's not a "Cher fan" but she does it with humour and I like that about her.

Closer to the Truth is the only album I've listened to in its entirety and there's a great balance of bangers and ballads. 'Dressed to Kill', 'Lovers Forever', 'Favourite Scars' and 'I Hope You Find It' are all favourites of mine.

Cher's been doing the rounds of promo recently, including a (mimed) live performance of 'SOS' on Ellen:

Really liked this interview too:

Yeah, she seems very aware that she is a voice and very much a ‘pop-puppet’. She gets given the songs, spends some time recording, and pops out the music. She obviously doesn’t give a shit whether she likes the music or not, she (and the label) just want the dollar.

To me, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, as long as I like the music from people like this, that’s all I care about.

Excuse me, but you clearly don't know ©her.

She is VERY much involved in everything she does. She won't record a song she doesn't like. She didn't finish recording 'Closer to the Truth' until she liked the final result. She fought for 'You Haven't Seen the Last of Me' to be included in 'Burlesque'. She re-did her vocals for 'Dancing Queen' in London because she wasn't satisfied with the early takes done in LA. She dictated how Believe would sound.

Give ©her some credit, please. B-)

She hated the vocoder on ‘believe’ though

Are you trolling or what?

I've just posted an article which says she was the one who raised the idea to use it on the verses.

I read the article. Just seems to contradict previous reports of her opinion on ‘believe’. I swore it took her a lot of convincing to like the song & when she eventually did, they wanted to remove the autotune where she exclaimed “over my dead body”.

it was her record company that hated it, and wanted it removed.

Cher loved it
