Posted August 3, 20186 yr Here's our weekly thread to discuss what sporting events or programmes you'll be watching or going to see and if you are taking part in any sport events this week. What's everyone up to this week?
August 3, 20186 yr This European multisports Championship sounds interesting so I'll try and catch some of that! And after a blistering hot bike ride last week, I think I'll be fine with a walk in Wales this week :P
August 3, 20186 yr There is likely to be a thrilling finish to the England v India test match tomorrow morning. Then it's the start of the football season. I'll be interested to see how Quest handle the Championship highlights programme. As it has the same presenter as Channel 5 had,Colin Murray, and is on at the same time,9pm,it doesn't look like there will be any change. I'll also watch some of the European multisports Championships.
August 3, 20186 yr Tomorrow is the day of my team triathlon. I'm doing the running part - 10K to be exact. It's not so much the running that worries me, it's the ridiculous heat. If I never post here again, that's my reason. Otherwise might try & catch the Community Shield but nothing else of note now we're in the F1 Summer break!
August 4, 20186 yr So I finished my 10km in 1 hour & 5 minutes! Super happy with that, would have been absolutely unthinkable even 12 months ago for me to accomplish that. The heat was the hardest factor definitely.
August 4, 20186 yr Thanks very much Mack! And it certainly will, gonna get a large takeaway first though :D
August 5, 20186 yr Well done Dobbo! As for Sports events that I'm watching this week, I'll watch the Community Shield and possibly some Athletics at the European Championships. Of course I'm going to watch Man United's first game of the season against Leicester on Friday also.
August 5, 20186 yr I'm watching Ireland in the Womens Hockey World Cup Final. It will be a miracle if they can win this.
August 5, 20186 yr Oh dear,Ireland lost 6-0. But they did very well to reach the final when they were ranked 15th out of the 16 countries and it was great to see the girls' broad smiles when they sang the national anthem at the start.
