It appears Summericia have matched the 22 to 1 improvement although still second to Hervé for lowest semi-final finish for a winner! Yay for a semi-final top 10 *.* (this is the second time Ojnoj have won the semi and then not been top 10 in the final though!!)

August 26, 20186 yr Delighted to have finished so high, tried not to get my hopes up for a win as I was following, but thought once it got so close Ginger wouldn't win. Thanks to everyone that voted for it, pleased so many like it - though no top votes - must be unusual for a song placed so high. Hopefully I'll be in again next time, maybe with something not as 'cheap' Pleased with the winner, always good if something you vote for wins, and the other two in the top 3 would've placed in my bottom 10! Glad the majority of my high pointers did fairly well - though a shame that due to my lack of posting and absence from this for a long time I have no idea who most of the people are I'm giving points to! August 26, 20186 yr this is actually heartbreaking. if I believed the hype around my entry I would have probably been calling snipers ♦ FSR Rontvia vs. Holland-Oats vs. Jupiterdonia (just barely, I think I have H-O around 18th) 036 ♦ HOLLAND OATS / THE ASTON SHUFFLE hype is cancelled tbh although in hindsight if I'd have known this would be one of the strongest finals this year I would have saved my best entry for later x :kink:
August 27, 20186 yr Oh my goodness it really did stay tight until the end!! I'm so so happy for Summericia, 'Try To Fight' just sounded like a winner to me - and I can't believe it's over a year old! FARC and Unovia rounding out a brilliant top 3, and I'm thrilled for Ojnoj giving Yonaka their best result in BJSC by far <3 On the downside, sad to see four songs I voted for in the bottom 10 - justice for Jupiterdonia, Holland-Oats, Aelandor and Daehun :nocheer: I'll gladly take 18th with that nice little points surge at the end, our first top 30 hit in 8 contests!!! No 18s but had a handful of 15s/13s from what I recall, thanks to anyone I hadn't already thanked <3 And thanks Dandy* for your hosting prowess, the graphics were second to none, and the quality of the contest itself was so strong, no wonder there were so many contenders to win. Got nothing in mind yet for 108 but very much looking forward to it.
August 27, 20186 yr Good result in the end, I liked that Cathedrals song, well done Rob, although the Farc track was also fairly good. Bit worse than what I was expecting unfortunately but what with being a little busy this month I haven’t been able to get invested as much as normal so that’s okay. Thanks for running this so well Dandy, what an exciting end to have so many songs so close, and a good lot at that.

August 27, 20186 yr That's why I was so surprised! FARC only 7th in semi one too. I was looking at you guys predicting and laughing thinking "oh what do they know" but then somehow the votes changed in the final and reflected what you were all expecting and I felt less smug :lol: it shows how much the semis can affect a qualification just by having the fans of a track in the opposite semi, and a wider pool of people who quite like a song in a final versus a lower number who love a song. I like to think that's why Singerpurear keeps just missing out on the final :lol:

August 27, 20186 yr Author SEMI I JUNGLE CORRECT So I somehow managed to miss off my own 8 points in the table ( :blush: ) and they should have gone to Terra Avium. Also I managed to award Desbuanda's 12 points to, er, Desbuanda!!! It should have been Deandria who received the maximum. Fortunately neither of these things affect who should have qualified (phew!) and everything in the final remains the same. It does mean some of you get slightly different finishing positions in the Jungle Semi though, the correct version is linked above. Oh well, it was so nearly fault free as well!!! But thanks to Bré for spotting these things, your attention to detail is immense!
August 27, 20186 yr Author I tried to bribe many of you to give FLJ more points so I could win twice in a row and match Rontvia, Aeroche and whatever Lee's country was called but alas none of you would play ball :( On the plus side, this is my first back to back top 10 finishes in goodness only knows how long, I'm very chuffed :wub:
