Honestly I think we've just got a lack of mammoth hits right now. Funky Friday is obviously popular but not on a God's Plan / One Kiss level, while Happier and Promises are both decreasing.

True, seems so odd that Happier is #1 when it has been out for almost 3 months.

It makes the sort of figures Ed was turning in when Divide was first released pretty eye-watering, casually over a million streams a day for various tracks.

 

It is interesting that there is a decline in streaming numbers at the very top, but overall streaming 'sales' are still increasing, going by the weekly sales reports. It does indeed suggest that people are more actively seeking songs out/listening more to catalogue tracks etc rather than just the big hits. I suppose this was always going to happen as the user base diversifies/ages.
