So thanks to the singer (Janice Robertson) being on the X Factor last week, the marvellous Dreamer by Livin' Joy is (was) back in the iTunes top 30.

First released in September 1994 and peaking at number 18, this house classic by the Italian duo Livin' Joy was re-released in May 1995 at debuted at the top of the charts (between classic number 1s by Oasis (Some Might Say) and Take That (Back For Good)).

The duo behind Livin' Joy were also responsible for Alex Party, who scored a huge number 2 hit in early 1995 with Don't Give Me Your Life - promoting the re-release of Dreamer. Livin' Joy had a further top 10 success in 1996 with the classic Don't Stop Movin' with singer Tameka Starr.

Great to see this back in the charts! One of the Hughes and best dance anthems of all time! Did Janice get through to the next round btw?

It would be great for her to win and this get a re-release as ‘Dreamer 2018’ or something.

This is literally in my top 3 songs of all time.

LOVE this song <3 One of my favourites of 90s Dance, and that's saying a lot!

I miss the days when iTunes top 30 would mean a possible chart re-entry next week.

This failed to make the overall top 100 this week due to a lack of streams, but it was number 18 on paid sales.
I played this at my sister's wedding and it went OFF. Actually I spent most of the night playing 90s classics - “Encore One Fois” and “Rhythm of the Night” got the biggest reactions along with this. Definitely in the playlist for when I DJ at my mates wedding this autumn too!
I knew I recognised this song! I think it's still known in the public eye and seems to get played at parties/nights out but I don't think many have thought to use it as an audition. Inspired choice!

It was the actual singer of the original on the X Factor.

Interesting! Just like when Esmee Denters gave a music career a second shot. Probably should've watched the audition before commenting tbh :kink:

Absolutely! I was DJing a wedding party last night and played:-

Snap - Rhythm Is A Dancer

Haddaway - What Is Love

C&C Music Factory - Gonna Make You Sweat

C&C Music Factory - Things That Make You Go Hmm

KLF - 3AM Eternal

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit

Black Street - No Diggidy

Mark Morison - Return Of The Mack

All got an amazing reaction on the dancefloor!

Yeh all of the above becoming more common at weddings as the generations move on, I'm all for a bit of Come on Eileen still tho as well lol
