Well there you go, even he agrees its best he isn’t involved. I wish the media would shut up about Brian already, like its that shocking he isn’t taking part.

That shade:

"That said, I do think it's great the band is getting back together - rather than sitting at home doing nothing, the boys will be doing something they love."

Will be interesting to hear what the lead single sounds like. Shouldn't be long until we hear snippets of it.

I know :D it would make a lot more sense if someone with bigger career said this though. Plus, Shane has released 3 decently succesful albums and had decent tours, Mark released the album he wanted and Nicky has a successful radio show, so its such crap they are doing nothing at home.

It is funny though because wasn't he interviewed last month or so saying he would be up for a Westlife reunion?? Also didn't he do a 'Boyzlife' thing, clearly riding on the Westlife fame... Wonder if he regrets leaving now?

Yes, a few months he said he would be all up for it, he even dissed the lads when they declined the huge contract with Brian being back.

I'm sure at least a very small piece of him regrets it, or else he wouldn't be acting like a moron now.

What Keith said is also absurd (sorry if this was already posted):

I’m sorry but this is crap. They said so many times they first started as a supporting act for Boyzone and Backstreet Boys.

In the long run, if they indeed signed a 5 year contract, its best they don't have any tension in the band. As much as I love Brian, I honestly believe it would have been akward between them. They haven't seen Brian for years, he even talked shit about them a few months ago and then he of course deleted the tweets.

The truth is, they aren't friends anymore. And on top of that, many fans haven't forgiven him for announcing he was leaving 3 weeks before the tour. It was different with Robbie because I think they did bury the axe but with Westlife boys and Bri I am not sure there isn't any bad blood. If not, they are still strangers so the vibe at least wouldn't be genuine.

Robbie just joined for a fame and cash grab. It's always about him. He left as soon as he got the boost.
It’s funny to get a younger perspective on Westlife - someone who didn’t have to live through their popularity

Though in retrospect, they started off alright! It just got worse when they became karaoke kings. So many number 1s

Yes at least some of their early material like 'Swear It Again', 'If I Let You Go' and 'Fool Again' at least sound nostalgic! Of their many ballads the only one I like is 'Queen of My Heart'. Most of their other ones are is on the boring side I think, sadly. I like 'When You're Looking Like That', one of their few upbeat songs!

'My Love' is easily my favourite and feels nostalgic to me. Really interested to see what they come back with.

Let's make them have another no1... that will be massive... its been 12 years since they had one...

Would be great but unlikely in this day an age. Potentially they could have the biggest first week album sales of the year though in my opinion depending on hype.

Even though the boys declined Simon, I’m pretty sure they will debut the single on the X Factor. Even when they debuted What About Now after a break was a special moment, I can just imagine how big their comeback could be.

one of their video for My Love is the most liked and shared post from a boy band with 900k likes and 1M shares on facebook and look at the date it was just posted January this year. https://www.facebook.com/1017520618305990/v...71925199532192/ That song is really massive specially on Asia, I remember its record of 16 weeks at #1 in the most popular radio station in the capital of Philippines and has never been broken yet. backstreet's video is next with 475k likes

EDIT: the second most liked fb post was from them again with 588k made just last year https://www.facebook.com/makingmemoriesoffi...03714906347573/

Have just seen that Shane's latest single has nearly 6 million views on YouTube, not bad for a final single from a re-released album.

In sales only chart # 1 is not impossible, if that's enough for you.

Westlife fans LOVE this song for years because it has been leaked as an unreleased Westlife song so no wonder it had success even now. I love the original songs from Love Always album, too bad its mostly a cover album.

Worst kind of love on his 'Right Here' album should have been released, loved it.

I really liked 'Completely' on his last album and I think he co-wrote that.

On a separate note, I am so tempted to get tickets to Croke Park next year and take the family to Westlife. My wife isn't a fan but she enjoyed the o2 concert I took her to years ago.

I can't lie...beautifully written and expressed. I think that's what often overlooked especially with bands or solo artists whose fanbase is predominantly one market (or in some cases perceived to be). A lot of the time, those artists are there for that person who is a fan of them, in that moment where they feel specifically feel connected to that song or that positive influence that got them through a bad time or reminds them of a happier time. Music can be so powerful like that.

I remember getting relentlessly bullied when I started secondary school because I loved S Club 7. But they were a point of reassurance for me when I was 11/12, and for that reason I can't help but feel/think fondly of them, even when all the stuff that's happened to them in the last 15 years since they split has happened.
