I'm bitterly jealous. Westlife are my sisters childhood favourites and they already released 700 bloody albums with numerous tours and my favourites are lazy bitches who stopped at 3 albums and a 3 tours!!! GUTTED!
Westlife coming for that double Xmas 1 in both charts  :nocheer:
Stools in the video, fantastic  Will be interesting to see how well they do, presumably a sell-out tour, a big selling album and maybe a top 40 single.

 I feel you

Westlife and an Ed Sheeran penned song? Coming for the Xmas #1 single *_* Their only Xmas #1 was back in 1999. I'm kind of excited for their return, if only for the nostalgia. Although I hope they don't do their stall routine. I can imagine them getting a performance on X-factor for the single. Perhaps a performance on Strictly too. Wouldn't be surprised if the album/tour were hugely successful.
This will be MASSIVE!!! Perfect timing, charts are all samey and they've left it long enough. Xmas No1 album odds aren't even worth bothering with.

This will not impact.

There is no nostalgia.

They are even worse today than they were back then, and back then they were the worst thing to ever happen to modern music.

anyone can explain me how the chart sales in the UK are being calculated? is there any way to help with the sales while being outside the UK?
Crazy how many people are talking about this, the gap in the market is crazy. Even my 15 year old daughter text me to say they were coming back and the story was on the news. Will be hard to get tickets for the tour though.
this is the first time in Westlife history that a news about them were shared and reached non-familiar Westlife countries like USA, Canada even Colombia, Mexico etc. very big machinery maybe going on, it actually started since last month. looks like the report is true there's a multi-million record and tour deals signed. that's why Kian's smile is different and he just said he's excited with the official announcement. Also it looks like they are really gunning for a UK christmas release and maybe Ed will not release anything up to December, he will give way to Westlife? He was London as well two days ago, same time two of members of Westlife were reported to be in london

^ What happened in June 2016? :o

I was never a big fan of Westlife, but I do think they had more than a few decent moments to be fair. I actually liked all the first album singles (bar the Double A Side covers which I found too twee). Beyond that I enjoyed When You're Looking Like That, World of Our Own, Obvious, Amazing and Something Right. Out of all their covers, I think You Raise Me Up & What About Now were their best.

I'm hoping that their comeback single is more of an uptempo moment! I'm not really here for their 2018 version of Ed's 'Perfect'.

Um Shittelife are a creaking old cover band. Ed would not not release for them lmaooo. Also there is no making way for them as they won't be makin top10. Sorry.

Album will do very well, as for the single? Forget about it - in the streaming era it has zero chance whatsoever.

Okay so it might just about scrape the top 40 as Steps managed that.

Steps - 'Scared of the Dark' would have likely gone low Top 20 if today's chart rules had been in place at the time of its release, i.e. ACR / 3 tracks per artist only! It charted below the entirety of Ed Sheeran's Divide album. :(

So who knows... if Westlife's comeback single is #1 success on iTunes like Steps, then that might be enough in itself for them to get a Top 40 hit, before factoring in any audio/video streams. I could tentatively imagine a number 21-30 area debut for a comeback single at least?

But yeah, the main success will definitely lie with an album and the tour!

If they can release another 'Flying without wings'!! Massive song.
