Well, well that was a very interesting round as not only have we lost 1 Madonna classic but 2, as both 'Material Girl' & 'Cherish' both got knocked out in the first and last double elimination. However firstly let's talk about 'Material Girl' which received the most votes with 8 and being the top favourite to go. The song was released in January 1985 as the 2nd single from her 'Like A Virgin' and along with this and the lead single it further established her as an icon and of course became a commercial success upon release, reaching top 3 peaks in both the UK and USA. A solid pop song that's very 80's Madonna that of course gave her nickname 'Material Girl' which she hasn't been able to shake off to this day. Full of sass and dripped in pure pop cheese and very girly. A stone cold classic in Madonna's discography.

The next song voted out by the literal skin of its teeth is Madonna's girliest song 'Cherish' which received 7 votes after 'Live To Tell' almost fell by the wayside, Buzzjack voters started piling on the votes for this and therefore becomes the 5th overall song to drop out. Released in August 1989 as the 3rd single from her 'Like A Prayer' album and marked a somewhat light hearted change from the heavy themed first 2 singles and you know what came as a nice surprise. A great example of what a good pop song should be - easy to listen to, uplifting and makes you wanna get up and dance, so all round fun with some fantastic synth, pop and doo wop production thrown into the mix that just puts a smile upon your face. Great song all round.

In the last round most of the songs got votes, apart the 2 that got voted out, 'Live To Tell' was very close with 6, 'Borderline' picked up 5, 'Holiday' got 4, while 'Crazy For You' got 3. 'Like A Virgin' & 'Open Your Heart' both got 2, while 'Into The Groove', 'La Isla Bonita' & 'Express Yourself' each gains 1 vote each. Only 3 songs didn't gain any votes.
