June 27, 20196 yr Apparently reports say only about 20 people attended the Birmingham signing yesterday, so that must have played a part.
June 27, 20196 yr Schedule conflicts apparently  To cancel 3 out of 4 is quite poor. Im guessing not many wrist bands got picked up for the events? But I don’t think that’s a good indication - I was going to go to the London one and get a wrist band on arrival - when he cancelled that I was going to do the same in Reading. If sales end up being close he could have easily cost himself the #1 spot by not doing these.
June 27, 20196 yr Apparently reports say only about 20 people attended the Birmingham signing yesterday, so that must have played a part. Wow! Was it not advertised then? I would of thought at least a couple of hundred would of attended in a city the size of Birmingham!
June 27, 20196 yr I think his audience is no longer the fan-stan type with posters and hoards of 1D type hysteria, it's more of a mature Radio 2 type audience. I think he should have done a signing in London...apparently someone was saying that they didn't have an online option to get booked on for the signing and that may have played a part? He's not that unpopular..he's sold 14k this week..! They were fairly random locations also..why not Manchester? Edited June 27, 20196 yr by sajjadali
June 27, 20196 yr Obsessed over DREAMING BIG at the moment There’s different reports on numbers, I’ve seen 60, 30 and 20. He’s got plenty of fans who will have ordered full packages from his own merchandise store on day one, downloaded from the likes of Apple, and who have no need or desire to do the stan thing of travelling to turn up for another cd and the chance to get a signed copy from him when they never set foot in HMV any more anyway.
June 27, 20196 yr 😍If you are a @willyoung fan IMPORTANT! ****BUY more copies and STREAM 'Lexicon' today if you want to get Will to No.1 on the UK Album Charts. You couldn’t reserve wristbands online like you could in the past for HMV signings so they really had no indication who was going to show up.
June 28, 20196 yr So he ended up at #2 with 16k sold - very decent amount! Obviously disappointed he didn’t manage to get to #1 but still a great result.
June 28, 20196 yr I'm very happy with #2, he's still got his album run of top 2 with all of his studio releases. :D
June 28, 20196 yr Well done to him #2 is fantastic 17 years into his career! Such a shame he just missed on #1 because of bloody streaming though!
June 29, 20196 yr Prefer All The Songs over the new single personally but both are decent. Didn't realise till I read in the newspaper that My Love was filmed in my town lol. Its not like anyone films anything here. Impressed that he's got another top 2 album nearly 20 years later and from someone who won a talent show as well!
