How do AQs work?

last contest's winner AQs every time, if there's an even number of entries then last contest's runner up also AQs.

The winner is entitled to a free pass to the final that they host. They do not have to use it, it is entirely up to them.

 

Where there is an even number of entries and the host AQs, then the runner up does as well. This is to stop the semi finals being uneven.

update: I’m still waiting on three reconfirmations and then hopefully we can get the show on the road

- A difficult choice - the artist is clearly parodying someone with an Artist Forum on Buzzjack, therefore the familiarity factor read the same. We viewed the song from the standpoint that the cover is clearly not a very flattering parody of Cheryl, but we are not judging whether or not someone would enjoy the song, we're judging from a standpoint of fairness. We felt that with so many rules against Artist Forum artists being included, that essentially including a similar version of one of their big hits was against the framework. Please note: this is not a vendetta against parody songs (see: the inclusion of Shopping In LIDL recently), we just felt that in this instance, a parody of an Artist Forum artist's back catalogue felt the same as the real thing.
