Apparently a teaser has been leaked from the John Lewis Christmas ad this year, which has been speculated for a while to feature Elton John. I'm looking forward to it!

Looks like Rocket Man by Elton John. Not another space one :(

There's been rumors it will be Your Song, but I'd be happy with Rocket Man tbh, as they've used Your Song before.

 

(Ideally it'd be Step Into Christmas, but that's never going to happen :P )

Some John Lewis shops have changed their name to 'John', pretty much confirming it will be about Elton John.

I do like 'Rocket Man' but please not the same Elton John song again, as 'Rocket Man' was on that frequently played advert for virtual reality headsets with the flying ostrich a year or so ago!

My friend told me the advert is Elton playing the piano and going back in time to when he was a child.

I hope it's Christmassy at least.

I don't really know many Elton songs other than Step Into Christmas, but his Your Song is much better than Ellie's version. :P

It feels more like an Elton John advert than a John Lewis one, not keen.

I hope Your Song will be able to re-enter the top 40, despite being on ACR.

Well that was disappointing. Didn't feel that Christmassy really, more just promoting Elton John.

Good luck to John Lewis trying to shift cuddly Elton John toys.

Not really a fan tbh! I don't think I'm particularly onboard with having a celebrity involved even if they made Elton's purpose very clear. And John Lewis really aren't known for selling pianos of all things - there's plenty of other musical instrument shops that sell much better! For me this was the first advert in a long time that didn't make me feel anything which is a shame as that was their intention!

 

I think the magic in these adverts is starting to fade and this definitely felt like it could belong to any number of shops rather than a John Lewis advert.
