6. Tom Walker - Leave a Light On

Didn’t think XF would have that much effect this year seeing as it’s losing viewers

Not a year old song getting more of a boost than a 2 week old song

I think it’s all down to who performed better ;)

Ugh as if Tom performed Leave A Light On, I was hoping to see Angels scaling the charts this morning!

surprised at the small effect for Cheryl, really thought it would propel her to #1, her vocals were bad, especially in the verses but overall I imagined it would grab people's attention, don't get how there 1-old Tom walker track got a bigger effect

this year's XF effects have been weird, huge for Polaroid for instance and much smaller for others like Olly

It's things like this which render artists one hit wonders.

Although maybe his Rudimental collab can help prevent him going down that path.

I suppose you could say the X factor effects have been polarising B-)

I can't believe Tom Walker missed a big opportunity to get a minor hit with 'Angels'. I bet Cowell told him to do 'Leave A Light On'!

thats what I don't get, they're been trying to push Angels on Spotify for months now, paying to have it on HH and other playlists, whats the point if the minute he has a TV promo slot he does his 1-year old song?

guess their aim was to gain more popularity overall but still

Tom down to #8

Cheryl up to #9

Ava back to #12

Take That up to #16

I really expect Chery's performance to at least briefly propel her back into the top 3 on iTunes. Tom Walker getting a bigger boost is very surprising.
Why did Cheryl just get a really big 0.07 boost?

Is that residual X Factor effect?

Yes always the day after in the morning there is still effect.

Annoying as it is, it makes sense to use the slot as a chance for people to put a name/face to a song they might have heard all over the radio; and it’s clearly had an effect on the song.
I see Cheryl didn't make a banging impression after her awful performance last night
