I genuinely don't think we will get another single from this era if this fails to go top 10 / 15 , if they do they need to release 'Monster In Me' or 'Forget You Not', I would support a rapper on the later.

They have the LM5 tour in November though so i can see there being more singles.

There's still time. NMSS literally took a month and a bit to take off and there was no one saying "they should re-release" at that point. :lol:

I swear we have this panic every time they take a while with the video. And then the video comes out and it's fine.

 

I am bored of waiting though, it's so messy.

I think the panic is a combination of things this time - the lack of Spotify support, the switch to RCA, the video delay, how it feels so long since Woman Like Me peaked etc.

 

Glory Days and Get Weird were a lot more successful at this point in the campaign as well. I do think the underperforming narrative has been overexaggerated, but something feels off.

The difference is with NMSS, their album was still smashing as was touch. The same applies to Touch as SOTME was smashing.

Yeah I agree, they rolled out Touch so soon after SOTME, which kept the album going. It's...odd that it's not on Hot Hits and Capital, but I assume they'll be added to both once the video gives the song a bit of life, whenever that may be. :wacko:

It's not so much the fact that it's not taking off that's frustrating me (it's performing decently given the circumstances), it's more that... nothing's happening. The radio response is so muted and the fact that it's not managed to secure any relevant Spotify placements is alarming. At least with NMSS, they'd already had two monster smashes from the era (+ radio were still hammering both), and the parent album was still selling amazingly well. I do think the whole 'cut the era short' narrative is a bit premature, but none of this bodes well for future singles, which is a shame because the likes of 'Wasabi', 'Monster In Me', 'The Cure' etc are begging to be released.

They need to:

- hold discussions with other labels

- bin RCA (and maybe their management?)

- put their all into the BRITs performance

- do a couple features

- start afresh

I don't imagine so, they're still playing WLM and give their GD singles a few spins now and again. They're always a bit odd with their playlisting and constantly jump on things late. They'll likely hammer it after the video release.

I reeeeally like the Vertical video too for a Spotify video, I think it's part of the official video/filmed at the same time, from the backdrop. I've noticed lots of artists do simultaneous video/spotify video releases. I bet they were meant to have the HHUK cover, but the official video has delayed it all.
