Posted November 24, 20186 yr V2 : YTD Sales : Please read these guidelines before you request sales estimates, it makes my task a lot easier. 1. Be specific - please name the artist and title for each entry you'd like an estimate for. 2. I log sales for all albums that have charted this year, but only update those that have sold enough to reach my 200 position tracking range 3. If an album isn't in the current Top 100, I won't be able to update its sales until Tues. Also, please don't ask about ex-T100 albums too often - once a month at most) 4. Remember to check the thread before requesting estimates - they may already have been answered. Also, no more than half-a-dozen requests at a time, thanks. 5. Please note my figures are combined sales & streams, and since I have no way of separating them, I cannot provide a split. 6. While I am no longer estimating singles sales, I can provide YTD singles positions from C+, and I am still maintaining my sales archive based on published figures (PM me if you want to see it) Thank you. November 27, 20186 yr Top 40 Songs of 2018 so far, from the OCC: As we head into the final weeks of 2018, so do we look back on the biggest hits of the year. With one month to go until the Official Singles and Albums Charts of the year are unveiled, here's how things are shaping up (as of November 27). Drake is having quite a time of it in 2018. Thanks to a nine week spell at Number 1, God’s Plan is currently the UK’s biggest single of the year so far with 1.52m combined sales. The song served as the lead single from his chart-topping Scorpion album and is also this year's most streamed track with 143m plays. God's Plan is by no means a dead cert to finish as the year's top song though; One Kiss by Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa is quickly gaining ground and is currently on 1.51m. The track spent eight weeks at Number 1 between April and June. Whether Drake finishes at the top or not, he still dominates the year-to-date singles chart: fellow chart-toppers Nice For What (1.3m) and In My Feelings (854k) place at 7 and 15. Shotgun by George Ezra was the official song of the summer, and it's the third biggest track of 2018 so far with 1.36m combined sales, while another George tune, Paradise, is at 8 (1.06m). Rudimental’s These Days ft. Macklemore, Jess Glynne and Dan Caplen – Number 1 for a single week in April – has topped 1.35m combined sales and is the year's fourth biggest song so far. These Days was key to Jess Glynne breaking the record for being the British female soloist with the most Number 1 hits, now tallying at seven. Keala Settle’s This Is Me from The Greatest Showman soundtrack is at Number 5, with 1.3m combined sales – it's also the biggest song of 2018 based on pure sales, clocking up 260,000 downloads. Dua Lipa makes two more appearances in the YTD Top 40; IDGAF is at 10 (990.1k) and 2017 chart-topper New Rules is still a major player well into this year, placing 18th (802k). Portugal. The Man’s slow-burner Feel It Still – which took 33 weeks from its first entry point to finally peak at Number 3 – is ninth (990.4k). The year’s most popular song so far to miss the Official Chart Top 5 is Sigala and Paloma Faith's Number 6 hit Lullaby, which places at 22, while the biggest song to miss the Top 10 is The Greatest Show from, yes, The Greatest Showman, which peaked at 20, and is 26th in the countdown so far. Video streams began to be counted toward the Official Chart from July this year, and the most streamed clip is Maroon 5 and Cardi B's Girls Like You, with 52m plays – it's at 31 on the overall tally of the year so far. Biggest breakthroughs of 2018 Aside from Portugal. The Man, the next top-selling breakthrough single is Lil Dicky viral Number 1 Freaky Friday, featuring Chris Brown, at Number 14 (926k). More big breakthrough hits this year come from: Benny Blanco's Eastside ft. Halsey & Khalid (29), Tom Walker's Leave A Light On (34), Loud Luxury's Body (36) and B Young's Jumanji (39). November 27, 20186 yr I love how a number 20 peaking song is in the top 30! 2 Ezras in the top 10 and This is Me as the top pure sales track. I imagine One Kiss should be no1 by the end of next month!
November 27, 20186 yr I think Kylie should be top 20 in actual physical sales chart, vinyl chart and top 5 in cassette year end sales chart ?
November 27, 20186 yr Find it crazy that 'Rockstar', 'New Rules', 'Havana' and particularly 'Shape of You' are in the Top 40. I know streaming has meant big hits still sell in large quantities after they've been a success, but to shift another 700k/800k and be among the big #1 hits of this year is just insane. Seems like 'One Kiss' will overtake 'God's Plan' which I am thrilled about. Even putting personal taste aside, 'One Kiss' feels much more deserving of being the #1 song of 2018 (as does 'Shotgun').
November 27, 20186 yr Yeh it's been the biggest hit this year for me overall along with Shotgun, can't really remember how Gods Plan went.
November 27, 20186 yr it's going to be real close by the end of the year then but it should be One Kiss at the top as that's still out-selling God's Plan on a weekly basis, hopefully this is the case.
November 27, 20186 yr Hopefully Jumanji and Tip Toe (#39 and #40) get knocked out of the top 40 by the end of the year.
November 27, 20186 yr I’m no longer interested in YTD singles. Streaming has managed to kill those too.
November 27, 20186 yr I love how ASIB soundtrack came out in October and is at number 11 Yeah but something released in November will outsell it :teresa:
